So Kennedy leaving after 1 season hurts his place on top PG status.
Although some are hanging Knecht jersey in rafters and retiring it after one season🤨

KC is in the top 5 PG status, because he was the guy when we won our first SEC Tournament title in 4 decades, but he's behind ZZ for sure. And attempting to goal post move and compare him to Knecht is honestly going to hurt the argument for KC even more. He never scored 30 in a single game at UT, only scored 20 or more 3 times and he had just 2 games reaching 10 assists (ZZ has done it 3 times just this year).

KC gets his roses, because he was a top rated PG who lead us to 27-8 and we won the SECT. But to compare his PG status against players that put in 3 or more seasons while here is honestly unfair to KC.

Harris justified his decision…and was a first round pick with an immediate impact. Last four in your list? Cept for Keon Johnson and Springer being first rounders…not so much.
I think every one of them made close to 5 million dollars…. staying in college probably wouldn’t have helped.

Best 1 year season at TN is DK and it's really not close IMO, especially if he wins SEC POY and finishes on the All-American team (which he should). If we win a conference title and/or make an elite eight run there will be real talk about hanging his # lol

Loved KC, totally think he made the right decision for himself leaving early as well. But I'd put a few PGs ahead of him that I'd rather have running the show on an "all-time" Tennessee team.

Personal PG Rushmore at UT (1997-98 season to today)

CJ Watson (man how I wish he had been here during a different coaching era, but even with Buzz he put up great seasons and made the league)
Tony Harris, Green could recruit some damn ballers and Harris was a dude from the beginning
Lamonte Turner, I loved Bone while he was here but I feel like Bone only had the one great season. Turner was a bucket from day 1 and really rebounded well too. Sad his last season was cut short because it was going to be special otherwise 12.3 ppg with 7.1 apg 3.5 rpg and 1.8 spg
ZZ, I'll admit some of this is bias because he's such a good dude and easy to pull for I also expect he'll have a senior year similar to what he's been doing but even if only looking at the 3 years he's played it's hard to deny what he's done

Top 5 Point Guards at Tennessee.

1. Tony Harris ( even though he was a head case occasionally)
2. C.J. Watson
3. Kennedy Chandler ( one season was a sample size should have stayed longer)
4. Jordan Bone
5. ZZ
Honorable Mention
Tyrone Beamann
ZZ probably will be #1 before it is over.

Development wise. And currently, an athlete can develop AND bank. Not faulting them for cashing in, but the SUBJECT being discussed is their legacy at UT. Maybe they’re as good as they would have ever been, but no reality exists where competing at a high level program < sitting on a NBA bench or playing overseas in maximizing one’s potential.

Fans shouldn't have to spend more money to fund NIL on top of what they already spend when CFB generates billions of dollars every year.
They should just slice out about $10mil for the athletes from that $202mil annual revenue they currently have. Nothing works without the athletes. They should get at least 5% of the operating revenue. That should give every athlete a nice salary and the elite athletes can still get their outside NiL contracts and make a ton more.

$10mil would give 250 athletes a $40k/year salary 👀. How many total athletes are at UT? 100ish for the football team, 15 (30) basketball, 40 (80) for baseball. . . 210 players in the 3 main sports (men & women). . . 33 for track & field, 20 for swim. . . should be able to give every single athlete at UT, including walk-ons, a $30k/yr salary for $10mil/year. . . only 5% of the annual operating revenue.

$10mil would give every athlete in the major sports (m&w) $45k/yr, including walk-ons. Scholarship only players would get nearly $65k/yr.

Neyland didn't even make the Top 10 on 247's list of greatest atmospheres. Yeah, you read that right...Neyland Stadium was not only not #1, not only not in the Top 5; but, 247 doesn't think it's one of the Top 10 grandest places for a college football game.

And, people pay!!! for what they have to say, and hang on every star they give or don't give!!!
You realize these sites do everything for clicks and they know that nothing will get clicks like ticking off Tennessee fans. Every time there is a list of the best we will be at the bottom and every time the do a list of the worst we will be at the top.

Chandler averaged 14 ppg and 4.7 assist.
Shot 47 pct from field
38 pct from 3
Was a Freshmen All American .

So yes he should be near the top.

Plus led Tennessee to their first SEC Tournament Championship since 1979..
I was never wowed by Chandler. Thought he was raw, and never realized any thing resembling his full potential.

Thought he left too early.

However read he made $1.719 Mill last year to average 2.2 points a game, and played less than 8 minutes.

Ill put my dunce cap on.
