Senior House Democrats signaled Friday that they may not certify the 2024 election results if former President Donald Trump wins, according to The Atlantic.

During oral arguments earlier this month to consider a Colorado ruling finding Trump ineligible for the ballot under the 14th Amendment’s “insurrectionist ban,” the Supreme Court did not appear persuaded that a single state should be able to remove him, though it is unclear whether the justices will address the eligibility question directly. Depite criticizing Republicans who voted against certifying President Joe Biden’s victory in 2020, several senior Democrats who spoke to The Atlantic reportedly left open the possibility of not certifying a Trump 2024 victory if the Supreme Court does not clearly rule on his eligibility.

I say this seriously and not just because I loathe the man (which of course I do): The gangster is the worst and most embarrassing speaker
in the history of American politics. He slurs words, his dentures come loose all the time and he laughably mispronounces words; he can't get certain words right and then just jumps to another thought--making it all incomprehensible; he cannot read a teleprompter. And then of course there is all his improvising--the steady stream of lies that he pull out of his big butt to try and make himself look good (this he does constantly--he's been trying to take credit for the stock market, for example), his adolescent insults, his authoritarian threats, his compliments to war criminals and the undignified, clownish behavior that the MAGA seem to enjoy. Oh, my! He's the drunk uncle we've all witnessed at bad parties....

taking parks and soccer and baseball fields away from our kids! And knocker fields, too. I'm not familiar with knocker fields, but

The Arabs in Dearborn, Michigan are not happy with Biden's unalloyed support of Israel as it has destroyed much
of Gaza. I can't blame them--it's rather sickening to see how both parties kowtow to Israel. We are such an embarrassing Milquetoast
when it comes to that country. We gently scold Israel but seldom if ever do anything substantive in reaction to Israeli offenses, and
Israel doesn't even take us seriously. It's the cowardice that is so much a part of politics and politicians. There could be a settlement
of this long conflict if the U.S. got serious about it and was willing to be truly tough with Israel and withhold military and other aid. But
the politicians are scared to do so--it's always about keeping your job.

In any case, the "uncommitted" campaign in Michigan is about Arabs who are upset with Biden, and Arabs constitute the majority of the
people in Dearborn, which I read has a population of just over 100K. Biden will lose some votes there in the fall, I'm afraid. He's campaign
is working to mend fences with the Arabs there now--and I think at the end of the day the vast, vast majority of the people in Dearborn will give it some thought and realize that however much they're disappointed with the Biden administration, another gangster presidency would be MUCH worse for them. They certainly won't vote for Trump.
