I don't get it. With Russia's proven record of seizing and detaining Americans, why do they keep going over there? Getting their butts thrown into jail. Being used as bargaining chips, they call prisoner exchanges? So, now, it's Ksenia Karelina. Further, I thought all flights between western nations and Russia were ended as part of the Ukraine sanctions. I think nitwits who going over there, knowing full well the risk, should be left to rot in Russian jails on account of being just plain stupid.

You mean the woman who has dual Russian and American citizenship who supposedly went to visit her grandma? I can see telling someone who got framed when they just wanted to see the Kremlin that they're a dumbass and should have picked a better time to go. But singling out this lady just for going misses the mark. Her problem seems to be going after she'd publicly raised funds for Ukraine, which isn't smart. BTW she flew there from Turkey.

1) She entered Russia by way of a flight from Istanbul, Turkey.

2) She is a dual citizen of Russia and the United States. She just became a citizen of the United States in 2021. She was born and raised in Russia.

3) She was visiting her family, which includes a 90 year old grandmother.

4) She has been charged with treason, because she donated $51.80 to a Ukrainian charity that is based in the United States.

Not exactly the same set of circumstances as Britney Griner.

I was singling out Americans who keep going over there in the light of what Putinland does when Americans visit. This gal is just the latest to go in spite of Putinan proven policy. Long live Pu-Pu!

Wife and I went there in 1999; Putin's first year in power. We had a female college professor show us around.
She said Citizens learned to work as little as possible under communism.

Every recently built(20th century) building looked like it was built as cheaply as possible.

We went to the art museum "Cathrine Palace" near St. Petersburg. Magnificent.

Since I don't trust any politicians of any party, I won't contest your statement. I'll just tell the other half of it. Americans are just as stupid when we have Repubs in charge. Right now, MAGA things, have grab him by the phallus Lauren Bobert, blonde dumbshell and adulteress, MTG, boy molester advocate Jim Jordan, kiddie girl pumper Matt Gaetz, thief and Liarindent Donald Trump. So yep, Americans are dumb for also voting MAGA clowns into office. See? Once again you and me agree on something, even when we don't. Cool, isn't it Carly?

Nope. I think that was pretty soon after we visited.
We were told they have more art in the basement than the combined art of the Lourve, The Metropolitan, d'orsay and another large museum.
We both enjoy art, and have been to several museums, but at our age they just kind of run together. Except for the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam.

When I was in Amsterdam the Rijksmuseum was closed for renovations so I was pissed. Then I went to the Van Gogh museum and that made me forget all about the Rijksmuseum.
