2024 Presidential Race

Someone show me where Income Tax revenue fell after TCJA?

Look at that growth? We have a spending problem.

Would never pass. Neither party would ever, ever, endorse cutting the entitlements.
Oh, I’m aware. Doesn’t mean it won’t happen one way or another. If not by choice, then by blunt force trauma. Currently, the SS “trust fund” runs dry in 2033, thereabouts. Everyone receiving benefits gets a 25% pay cut when that happens. It’s either that or reformulate the benefits on a “born on or after” criteria in the future to match current projections and funding.

So you've never claimed the GOP wanted to take people's social security or Medicare away? BS
@lawgator1 I can only assume, since you have not responded to this, that you actually realize how big of a hypocrite you are. Does that suck? How about you stop lying about GOP intentions. It's like when you said the only people who support school choice are those scared to have their kids around minorities.

I don't understand the full context but I've never said the GOP would actually attempt to kill Medicare or SS. They may have a few people more willing to hint at it, to get some ultra right media coverage, but we are talking just a handful of wingnuts, not any actual effort.

I'm all for lower class persons paying more in taxes. But I'm also for the highest earners paying more, as well.

Wonder what the stats would be for everyone paying, say, 5 percent more per year and what that would do to the debt over time.
I'd rather the government spend less

And the .gov would just spend any 'additional' revenue. But you know that.

Not only are there Republicans who'd like to kill Social Security, President Bush floated the idea of partially privatizing the system. It went nowhere.

"Bush outlined a major initiative to reform Social Security which included partial privatization of the system, personal Social Security accounts, and options to permit Americans to divert a portion of their Social Security tax (FICA) into secured investments."

There are certainly Republicans who'd want to get rid of Medicare and Medicaid. They hate government, period. Fortunately, they are a minority of crazies.
