It has to do with how cats fur color is tied to genetics. Black and grey are dominant. However orange is dominant as well with a different allele. Since males only have one X chromosome they have a higher chance of showing the orange due color even though black and grey are "more" dominant. Same with calico and tortoise shell fur colors. They're female cats with all 3 types of alleles so they show all 3 at the same time because they'll have all 3 on both X chromosomes

First one looks like a Flame Lynx Ragdoll! Our Smoki is a Blue Lynx Bicolor Ragdoll. So pretty. Sheds...so bad. Our first "luxury" breed.
