While we're being honest?

Garth Brooks had a "name"...so did Tim Tebow. In MLB they don't let you play in THE SHOW as a gimmick...at least since Eddie Gaedel sold peanuts for PT Barnum doppelganger, Bill Veeck.

Vandy and Army were up there for a while. You can really see the Neyland influence.

Yup. Can also see that Saban vs UT dysfunction from 2007-present pretty clearly. Was only 8 wins apart when Saban took over.. 90 apart now. Time to close the gap. Decade of the Vols.

This kind of chemistry goes a long way. This season has those fun vibes like 07-08 and 18-19. This team is better constructed to not just breakthrough to the Final 4 but possibly to win the national championship.

I think knowing we have a for sure bucket getter combined with an offensive identity goes a long way. The culture/chemistry/veteran leadership stuff is what can take a team really far.

It's hard to wrap my head around it cause it's so hard to win 6 games and so much unknown about seeding,brackets and matchups... So much you don't control...I don't let myself think about it.

Basketball wise... There's 2 things that I think matter... We still turn the ball over a little too much and as much credit I will give Aidoo for turning his season around..
He's been as big a part of this thing as DK has imo, and I'd go so far as to say if Aidoo isn't what he's been the past month, DK probably isn't either.

That said.. We've also seen Aidoo against good bigs.... And he'll have other matchups like that, that will test him again. Maybe a couple rematches.....

Anyway...I think this as capable a team as we've had, maybe ever, of breaking thru.

Someday he’ll have to educate young posters that basketball wasn’t invented in their time and that AI players shouldn’t be compared to forerunners like Lebron…dependent on oxygen, food and bound by the laws of gravity.

My lone concern with post season play is a dominant big. Especially one they call bs fouls on us for playing aggressive.

I see us struggling with Edey for example.

247 thread talking best Vols all-time and King was brought up in regards to averaging 26 ppg as a Vol on 59% shooting (geez! Did they even have 3s? Not sure).

I looked futher into his stats...not only 26 ppg over 3 seasons... which is ridiculous off the bat and would lead the NCAA this season...but he also averaged 13 rebounds a game!! What the HELL.

Man I can't imagine seeing that kind of domination in person. What a player.

He may have been talked about in the same breath as MJ if not for the bad knees. He was so quick to turn and shoot it was amazing. He also played against all those zone defenses designed to stop him. Kinect is truly a one of the best VOLS we've ever had.

I think we are actually well equipped to handle Edey with Aidoo and Awaka. Just didn't go well with both of them wracking up fouls last time. Hopefully we do a better job of attacking him on offense next time we play to draw fouls and up our 2nd chance points.
