#TrustFundFans giving up college football. This sentiment is all over their boards.

Sounds like he's crying because Bama is no longer one of a handful of programs able to illegally pay recruits. Liked it better when they were allowed to cheat with impunity.

Which teams do you remember being championship caliber, losing their coach, then plugging in a new coach without much drop-off?

I'm having a hard time remembering any that were very good with the new coach. Maybe Oregon for a year or 2. UT, Majors to Fulmer, but that is different.

Odds are that Deboer is gonna crash in spectacular fashion within 3-4 seasons. . . it's looking like it could be sooner than that.
Majors to Fulmer was different...it FELT at the time that Majors had stalled a little and it just really felt like Fulmer was the man to get over that last hump...Phil doing so well while Johnny was down, and the team falling badly when he came back made a massive difference in perception at that time.

This is another Saban situation, didn't like NIL or portal so he took his football and went home..

Look for Geno to do the same thing in a year or two..

I think it was more life in these context I could be wrong though..take angel reese for example…got big into celebrity life opened a bunch of doors for her regarding NIL deals and when the season started she was a huge problem for Kim in the locker room and on the court..it’s definitely a entitlement issue..money and fame changes people

They believe it's their birthright to be special and the best. Majority of thier fanbase has no clue who Ray Perkins was or anyone after Stallings
Which is ludicrous because it can't be BOTH our birthright to be special and the best. They've been stealing our birthright, inbred bastards.

It's mostly entitlement on their part. However, I think part of the reason they think it this time is because Bear's final season wasn't anything special. Finished the season unranked and .500 in SEC play. Saban, in contrast, kind of pulled a rabbit out of a hat and was a couple of plays away from playing for a national title again this past season.

If Alabama went 7-5 or 8-4 this season, I think many more of their fans would be worried about DeBoer.
Worried? They'd be pleading for Saban to come back.

Saban ruined Bama's dynasty and he didn't even know it
If the the prick really gave a đź’© about Alabama...he would have found somebody he thought had potential and prepared them and the fanbase to take over so as to make a smoother transition when he retired.

He is and always has been a narcissistic prick...Bama sold that 🤬ing devil their collective soul and it paid off for them spectacularly...now they have to pay, but nobody ever wants to pay after making such a deal.

I'm a little surprised that DeBoer passed the "test" of being deemed worthy enough for their fanbase. In fact, I very seriously doubt he passes that test if he didn't make the playoff this year.

An interesting question for their AD would be "before this most recent season, was DeBoer on your radar as a potential replacement for Saban in the event he retired?" You likely wouldn't get a straight answer to the question, but I find it hard to believe that he was. I'm sure he shot up their coaching hot board very quickly, as opposed to a number of other guys who had been on there for a while.

I don't think DeBoer is a bad coach - in fact, to the contrary, I think he's a good coach. I honestly don't know if he's the best, or even a good, guy for this job though. It seemed like Lanning or Sark would be a much better fit, but I guess neither of them were interested. Good for them.
DeBoer was the first one to say yes. They'll never admit it, but they heard several noes before they got to DeBoer.

Which is ludicrous because it can't be BOTH our birthright to be special and the best. They've been stealing our birthright, inbred bastards.
Our administration sold that birthright for a bowl of stew cooked over burning mattresses. Lane Kiffin put GOAT skin on his forearms and deceived everybody.

Yes, I knew you were familiar with both areas. My brother and I couldn't wait to get out of the tri-cities growing up. We thought it was too small. Now? I am much more favorable to the area (guess it's a young person thing). Now, I do tend to prefer an area with a lot going on but hey, I may end up in Wenatchee Washington so what do I know.
Yeah...when I was in my 20s I loved going to the ATL on weekends to party or do other fun things, but I never wanted to live there.

I don't care what you say, 8-Ball was a good dude.

This all came about because the NCAA lost a lawsuit. Players wanted to get paid because they were generating tons of money for the universities and the NCAA. Someone will try to put lipstick on this pig but the end result is that it'll still be a pig.
If the players don't compromise at some point and agree to some kind of fairly organized rules...the game will die...chaos is a ladder for the self centered and narcissistic in the short run, but it is a ever consuming, ever destroying black hole that results in the death of light for everyone in the long term.

I personally think it’s your cousins the Sasquatch, Yowie, and Skunk Ape that has given the Yeti the bad name.
I personally think human intolerance has led to y'all giving us names like "Skunk-Ape" and "Abominable Snowman". You're clearly prejudiced against my kind.
