Just like Nyland Green. Had played 3 years at UGA with very few stats. Why would we want a player like that? We are taking guys who have produced in college. The only exception is the TE from Bama because we are thin at that position.

Continue to believe Heupel has specific plans for his skillset and that it wasn’t purely a depth move.

What would you consider “level out” in this situation?

Top 5-10 recruiting with an innovative offense. This is a top level program. Any coach with a clue flourishes there…and Deboer has several clues. I don’t see a Dan Mullen recruiting wise. He will LEVEL it out, but I do predict it’ll be sobering for the Gump fans the inevitable dip from Saban.

And the current players because in theory, they have to wait until the summer to transfer. Thus taking away spring practice from them with the new school they would’ve chose if given a fair opportunity to transfer in DecemberJanuary.

Our secondary has stunk it up for years and although we have picked up a few guys in the portal, there have been tons that have passed through we didn't grab. Example- Ole miss just picked up a CB from Mich - Walker

And yes, there's been tons of upgrade talent that has experience become available in the portal the past few months compared to what we have currently sitting in the secondary, and it's come and gone... Then this fall if our secondary continues to be a problem, here will come the complaining, yet just pointing out we will have had the chance if truly determined, to pick up upgrades...

Now that Bama fans are discovering that NIL matters when you don't have a HoF coach someone should tell their boards that Tennessee's GDP is nearly double Alabama's and growing at nearly double the rate. I'm sure they'd appreciate the info.

Alabama fans have been spoiled, privileged, and entitled.

It is not the program that makes Alabama elite the last 15-20 years. It’s the coach, Nick Saban. Alabama fans are delusional that Alabama is its own level and “the chosen one”.

Sure, Alabama has the resources to be capable of it and with Saban, it happened. Good for them. But let’s not pretend that Saban would not have replicated his success at several other SEC schools (LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn). Saban was a once in a generation coach that was a fit for his era and Alabama was blessed to have him.

At UT, we have dealt with our share of bad coaches, and bad coaches do not matter, even with the resources in place. We experienced that at UT. Other programs have too.

The time has come for Alabama fans to be humbled, and we are all here for it. For their sake Deboer hopefully isn’t a dud. Otherwise, they’re gonna know what it’s like.

PS: I hope he’s a dud.
