Recruiting Football Talk VII

What about the starting players that are hitting the portal before their bowl games for bigger NIL because they’ve shown their worth (or think they have) or because others are protecting their bodies for the NFL. Do I blame them, no. You’ve not wrong, I hate early signing day. It’s just a part of it. It’s ruined it for this boomer, there I said it.
They'd play the bowl game if they didn't have to enter the portal before early signing day.

Protecting bodies for the NFL doesn't have anything to do with NIL or transfer portal either.

I still have no idea why they implemented the early signing day in December. Make it in mid January.

Maybe I didn’t post it right the first time, I can believe it. I’ll say it again, hate early signing day. It all relates to the other. ESD, timing of the Portal and drafting new players to come aboard and it becomes a trifecta when other players can opt out to keep from getting hurt, because of what bowl games have become and what it means for older players that have a chance to go to the next level. Why chance it when you can go and make bank with a healthy body. Makes sense?

Yep, losing to Michigan (probably why he was hired to beat), is one thing,,,,,,,,but to lose to a middle team in the SEC, I’d say that seat is hot. To be fair, bowl games now days shouldn’t gauge a team’s winnable with the opt outs and transfer portal. It’s taken the whole fun out of watching them. It’s worse than watching the NFL, because it’s ruining the game I’ve loved since high school.
They are as stacked in talent as AL and GA. And what have they done with it? Nothing. Plus losing to MI. Yeah, his seat is hot.

Been to a lot of amusement parks - all the Disney parks in Fl; Universal Studios, Six Flags; Kings Island; Sea World; etc. The best by far was Cedar Point...hands down. Universal would be a distant second.
Cedar Point recruited at UT my freshman year for summer jobs. I applied, interviewed and got a job for the summer as a “sweeperette” in the picnic area just inside the front entrance. Great summer - everyone called me “Tennessee” because of my accent (they were the ones with the accent) and the Tennessee jacket I wore! Employees got to ride after the park closed! Lots of memories coming back right now!

I thought it was so they could practice with the team and start school in January.

Have you ever been to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe? If so, what was your impressions? Is it definitely something you must see at least once?
Not been to Tahoe yet, but Yosemite is freaking breathtaking...it is one of the most spectacular places on Earth. Don't be lazy, do a lot of research before you go so you know where to go, when and what to do and how to get around....know what to expect.

I had extreme expectations for Yosemite...and it absolutely blew those extreme expectations completely away..here is a small taste..

I agree. Yosemite is incredible. Lake Tahoe is really nice, but Yosemite is far better.

Yosemite and Glacier are my top two bucket list national parks to go to.

Cool thing is that I get to go to Portland, Maine for a work conference in June. Gonna take a few extra days and hit up Acadia and some other places near there, so I get to cross that NP off the list.

I love Yosemite...like I said, it blew my extreme expectations away...but I still love Grand Teton-Yellowstone more than any other place I've been so far.

It literally takes my breath away everytime we drive over Togwotee pass from th e east and you see those beautiful majestic rugged Teton Mountains across the wide Jackson Hole valley just soaring so spectacularly steep and tall above the chain of glacial lakes at their feet.

I don't separate GTNP and YNP...in my mind they are two beautiful and spectacular parts of the same place...ecologist call them, along with the Wind Rivers and Absorokas and Beartooths..."Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem"

Here is some more Yosemite since it's late and it shouldn’t bother anybody..

I do too...but they probably are not going to..they have a ton coming back (though they do lose Schrader)and some idiots in Birmingham decided to give them the softest schedule humanly possible.
I know, their schedule is cupcake city. Hopefully they get tripped and don’t somehow turn it into looking like a good season.

Portnoy oh boy

Before this current 3 game win streak Michigan's on, OSU beat their ass 15 out of 16 years, 17 out of 19...OSU is 17-6 against them this century. WTF is Portnoy blathering about, "use to mean something"? Yes, Michigan has won the last 3; but, before that, "The Game" was the very definition of 'irrelevant'.

Don't get me wrong, I hate both of them...they both suck donkey, imo; but, Michigan still has a ways to go, to be rid of the dog collar OSU has on them in the 21st Century.
