All good, it came close less than a mile from the house. I’m hearing that Hendersonville is a disaster area and parts of Gallatin got hit hard. Thanks for asking.
@NEO It looked like it came through your neighborhood
Off topic but Q..I watched the Boeing Downfall doc last night. I had no idea of the conspiracy to cover up MCAS. Weird they left that in the training manual appendix.I guarantee you that the poster you responded to views Trump as a dictator that will just issue EOs or decrees or whatever that will clearly violate the Constitution. Don't feed him.

Judge's ruling could lead to billions in damages as 'worst-case scenario' rears head for NCAA
The NCAA continues to take hits on multiple legal frontswww.cbssports.com
NCAA is toast. Sankey has the vapors.
AFAIAC, the NCAA made their bed, but like you said..potential can kick rocks. These kids act like they are slaves and get nothing. If they lose, I am not so sure if the institutions are not liable since they comprise the NCAA. Wonder what to think about that! Next is unionization and strikes. That judge just tore the lid off Pandora's box - there were others before trying to pry it open, so it wasn't just this one event.. Now consider all the professional regulating bodies and licensure requirements - the guy fixing your car knows he could have been a doc, and the plumber could have been a cardiothoracic surgeon ... Next there is the argument for those who never played sports for one reason or another. Qualifying requirements kept "promising athletes" from entering universities, so they couldn't play. NCAA scholarship limits kept somebody else from signing with schools that have great NIL connections or turn out the most NFL candidates. There is a thing called common sense, and apparently judges and juries don't have it, and lawyers take advantage of the lapse. We are a society that never left the toddler tantrum stage and can't accept reality.

Will pilots ever trust Boeing again? I imagine they are only still in business beacuse of national security implications, but dang..corporate has really mucked a treasued national company. Would hate to conceed to the Euros.
I knew that part. The egregious part was not even telling the pilots about the system so they wouldnt have to certify new 737 training. Like it didnt even exist, and only referenced in internal Boeing comms, even to the point of scape goating the pilots of the crashed planes. That's an issue we all face to some degree as equipment becomes more computer controlled. You put in an input, but one or more black boxes decide on how to apply your input. The issue is whether the pilot in this case and perhaps you as a driver or someone else using a piece of equipment are made aware that your input may be ignored or modified, how it's modified, and whether you can work around a malfunctioning black box - or sensor. We require skilled people at the controls of aircraft; it makes no sense to keep them our of the loop and ignore their experience.
You or someone else asked me some time ago about why as an engineer I seemed a bit biased against technology. This is one of the reasons, and another big one is that as the complexity grows reliability often suffers. Pilots have learned how controls manage control surfaces for decades, and Boeing decided to change that without bluntly informing the people affected what they did ... and why they did it. Generally they modified the flight characteristics in a new variant of a very popular and highly used plane because the new engines had to be repositioned because the landing gear was too short to work with increased passenger capacity.

Quote: No greater deal has ever existed for a high school graduate than an athletic scholarship for college in the United States. While the average earnings of a high school graduate are around $20,000.00 a year, the value of an athletic scholarship can be worth over $150,000.00 annually, according to an article in Forbes.
Come to think of it, I have not owned, at least as an adult, an individual jersey of anyone. And I certainly am not going to buy a product because a UT kid endorses it.The very universities that make up the NCAA also place many other limits on students. Qualifying standards for admission, grade requirement for retention, graduation requirements ... and they generally require students to pay. Imagine now that the athletic scholarships from the schools themselves allowing a place for student/athletes that couldn't pay to attend, the rest of the student body (or would be students) demand similar scholarships ... especially since athletes apparently don't consider their scholarships as meaningful compensation - that they don't see an athletic scholarship and playing the sport as a quid pro quo.
With decisions like this court just made, we're teetering on anarchy by stating that governing bodies have no place and rulemaking is uniquely an unfair and limiting practice - reasons for limits are immaterial. Law made by decision in a courtroom is dangerous business and should have been ended a long time ago.

I actually no longer live in Gallatin. I am going through a divorce and my dad has dementia so I moved out and am staying with my parents and helping them. It was either crazy dad or stay with soon to be crazy Asian ex wife. I chose life.

Tennessee Defensive Starter Enters The Transfer Portal | Rocky Top Insider
Tennessee defensive starter Tamarion McDonald enters the transfer portal after spending four seasons in Knoxville.www.rockytopinsider.com
We actually could use him and Slaughter both back at safety next season....something is wrong now i think. Martinez on the way out maybe? It's quite suspicious that EVERY experienced upperclassmen at DB is now in the portal....it would be different if we needed the room, but we do not. CJH and staff put together a top6 class of 20 members...but we havent even finished out our 24 class yet, much less finished it strong....now we have 10 guys total in the portal (counting PWOs) but have signed ZERO players from the portal, while missing on a couple we really wanted.
I am not saying "the sky is falling" bc it isn't....this 24 class (20 anyway) is stacked top to bottom...but we have a GLARING need at TE and need 2 from the portal, we need at least 1 Olineman from the portal also, we need help at safety and corner now thanks to losing our 2 best seniors at safety ....and we need to finish the 24 season strong which I dont even know if that is possible at this point.
Seems like something is going on behind the scenes....not sure yet what it is, and likely never will know....but it seems like we have a problem of some kind right now. Could be Martinez, i guess. We have never had a prolonged dead period of weeks with no good news about players though
