Complete cost cutting move by Seattle. Atlanta takes $19M with White/Gonzales and White’s $8M in 2025 ($2M buyout after 2025) and basically gives up zero for Kelenic. Price wise it’s high but Kelenic has some really good bat stats and is under team control for five years and is turning 24. Solid defender in the corner. Love this.

Braves have shown a history of helping guys cut K rates at the ML level. If they can get that at 25%, he’s got a chance to be a real dude

Gonzales soft tossing lefty that eats innings but got hurt last year. $12M expensive for the role but only one year left and I’ve seen worse #5/long inning guys in the world. Especially if they dangle Elder as part of a trade, he could be a semi useful piece

I like this more than giving Eddie or Brantley a one year deal or giving Bellinger a $200M contract or trade for a rental. Guy with tools for days with some success young and has five years of control
