.Are they an undefeated conference champion? Which team had the better season to this point. I think 13-0 trumps 12-1 every single time. It should, anyway.

Nope. And I'm not arguing in favor of either one over FSU. I am saying that Texas is the one that is the weak link. Focusing on BAMA is a distraction.

That's the point. You'd be extremely irritated if March madness only had 4 teams and some d2 conf champ who had no chance to beat the 1 seed was one of the 4.

The 4-team limit is the issue here. 8 would solve it, 12 will definitely solve it. There is no perfect answer when you only have 4 spots to work with.
Well, I agree about additional teams. But, in that scenario, there is no way a D2 team would be in that position. FSU is not an FCS team.

Bama has 4 wins against current top 25 teams, FSU has 2 (one of which was against a not very good Louisville team last night) against a much weaker schedule.

I am surprised (actually Im not) that so many Vol fans can’t see this Bama team is BY FAR better than this FSU team.
Just can’t get past the label of 13-0 conference champ. We’ve seen literally every year, a conference champ getting drubbed by a good SEC team. And no that’s not conference bias, I hate our colleagues; it’s just true. Now I don’t know that Alabama is better than a Jordan Travis-led FSU team. Him breaking his leg hurt their chance in a VERY SUBJECTIVE PROCESS OF CHOOSING playoff contenders.

So Bama has 4 wins against current top 25 teams and FSU has 2 (their second was last night) against much weaker competition….thats not opinion and looking at the whole season.

And another non-opinion is that Bama would be favored in Vegas by at least 2 TDs against FSU.
The committee ranks the top 25, so that can be manipulated a bit. But Alabama lost a game, and that is a great weight against another P5 team that went undefeated. I just think it’s dumb to not reward a team who’s lost a player. It just tells the other players that they don’t matter.

So you think that FSU would beat Alabama on a neutral field if they played tomorrow (with FSU's QB on ice)?
They don’t have to play tomorrow.
Qb#2 will be back and will have a few weeks to prep .

I think they are better with QB2 than Auburn or Arkansas or the other unranked teams that played Bama really close.

Entertainment > Sport. So there’s no legitimacy in winning a title so what is everyone playing for?
It used to be the conference championship was the ultimate badge of honor. And that process is actually fair-ish in determining a championship. Not subjective.

I haven’t blocked a single soul on this website lol

Why is it so hard to understand the committee doesn't care? They only care about trying to get the best 4 teams in, not the 4 most deserving. I don't understand why so many people can't seem to grasp that and keep harping on who is more deserving.

You can disagree with their goal, but to act like their goal is the same is yours despite mountains of evidence is kind of baffling.
Because the gap between “best” and “most deserving” is based purely on assumption, and that’s what everyone hated about the old bowl system and the BCS. We wanted it proven on the field.

Is FSU capable of winning a title? Maybe not, but they earned their chance to prove it on the field. Bama didn’t. They got punked in their own building by Sark.

If Jordan Travis were healthy I’d ABSOLUTELY take FSU over Bama and would be pissed if Bama got in too, but this FSU team is, in my opinion, just not as good as Bama, Ohio State, Georgia and probably Oregon.

It sucks, but I think it’s true.

The committee didn't prejudge, they held steady and gave FSU two games to demonstrate that their team was still playoff caliber. That didn't happen in either game. Instead, their offensive production in both games fell off a cliff by nearly every observable metric, compared to the rest of the season. Two very bad offensive outings coinciding with the loss of their starting QB. After watching those two games the committee believed that FSU's offense had been damaged enough to warrant dropping them out. Good defense notwithstanding, they had enough information to decide FSU wasn't the same team.
BS . It was just the excuse they needed to use

There's literally a committee of humans in place making the decision. Of course there will be assumptions and conjecture. If they wanted objectivity and past performance being 100% the determining criteria, they'd have never put a committee in place. Their goals are not the same as yours. They don't care who is most deserving, and they never claimed to.
