If you truly believe that, and don't believe that is the convenient excuse, then, I hope you are right. I don't believe it. If that is truly the case, why did FSU stay at #3 for the week after Travis got hurt. If they were saying it is because they also lost their second string QB, then, again, I ask you, why leave them at 3rd. Also, why not consider the 2nd string QB has a month to recover from a concussion.

The committee didn't prejudge, they held steady and gave FSU two games to demonstrate that their team was still playoff caliber. That didn't happen in either game. Instead, their offensive production in both games fell off a cliff by nearly every observable metric, compared to the rest of the season. Two very bad offensive outings coinciding with the loss of their starting QB. After watching those two games the committee believed that FSU's offense had been damaged enough to warrant dropping them out. Good defense notwithstanding, they had enough information to decide FSU wasn't the same team.

Fair question:
Since losing a key player is apparently a criteria in choosing who makes it in, would the same apply if Bama had lost Milroe at some point in the season??
🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Just break a quarterbacks leg to screw a team late in the season that you are competing with for a playoff spot since it will be held against them. They do not realize how this stuff can affect players and their safety.

It does matter. The CFP Committee's mandate is to place the 4 best teams in the CFP.

Do I think FSU got screwed by the process? Yes, but they aren't one of the 4 best teams right now.
I'll ask again, if it's the 4 best teams then where is UGA? Would like to here yours or anybody else's reasoning why UGA wouldn't be favored over any of the teams outside of maybe Bama on a neutral field.

If its the 4-best, UGA should be in over any pick of the other three. If its the 4 most deserving, FSU should be in instead of Bama. End of story and they failed at their mandate. The committee was inconsistent in the approach in an effort to get one team in. It's the definition of bias.

The committee wanted Bama and it was at the expense of FSU. Call it what it is.

Bama already has a loss to one of the other playoff teams. FSU is undefeated. There was no actual logic involved in the decision.

And I'm surprised so many Vol fans are defending Bama. A team we all know gets special "privilege".
Bama has 4 wins against current top 25 teams, FSU has 2 (one of which was against a not very good Louisville team last night) against a much weaker schedule.

I am surprised (actually Im not) that so many Vol fans can’t see this Bama team is BY FAR better than this FSU team.

UGA is clearly one of the 4 best but we all know slotting them in would’ve been ridiculous. It should be viewed as just as ridiculous that FSU was left out.

if the roles were reversed and Bama was an undefeated conference champion without QB1 they would be in and it wouldn't be questioned. Anybody thinking otherwise is fooling themselves and I have some ocean front property in Arizona I would like to sell to you.

I love the hypocrisy of our fan base! If Tennessee was a one loss conference champion being compared to an undefeated Florida State we’d be saying the same things Bama fans are saying 😂😂😂

The SEC champion (despite the Bama hate on this board) is a better team than FSU.
I agree with a lot of what you say. We are biased against Bama, no doubt. I don't agree that Bama should be in. Undefeated conference champion. Why is this so hard?

Bama is better than FSU in all liklihood. If the best argument is what you are pushing, let's hear why UGA is left out in favor of Wash, Mich, and Texas. Remember, if it is 4 best, don't go back to records and schedules and results, because obviously those don't matter.

My biggest issue is everyone is using the "best" argument for Bama over FSU, and "deserving" with the other teams. If it is strictly best, UGA should be in. Full stop.

I think this would be a great strategy for FSU. I mean, screw it - end on a high note of 13-0, conference champs! Why would they even care about some consolation bowl after that screw job. Can you imagine the media following that would generate to have a major conf champ boycotting their bowl game?!
All the players just have to say they are skipping it and walk out. Then it is not on the admin. They will not have enough players willing to play in it.

Why not just let Vegas seed the teams? People say FSU is obviously inferior to Bama — well, Vegas says they’re inferior to Georgia, yet the committee ranked FSU higher. Vegas would probably have Oregon, Ohio State, Mizzou, and Penn State favored over FSU too. So why is FSU even in the top 10? Can one answer that question without essentially conceding that they got hosed because of Bama’s brand?

I’m not convinced Georgia shouldn’t be in too, honestly.
