It hasn't stopped them from putting teams in this playoff in years past when everyone knew they would be blowouts. It's happened a lot. Mich, Notre Dame, OU just to name 3. I hope both games are a blowout tbh. Just to see what people have to say lolMaybe so, but fsu is nowhere near the team they were with Travis. They'd get obliterated by Michigan, I'm 100% positive of that. Would be Cincinnati level of lopsided, which is probably what the committee referenced when making their decision.
Justice is implicitly valued in any competitive sporting endeavor (or fairness, if it helps).Justice has nothing to do with this. They've always stated they want to put the 4 best teams in. I prefer the regular season to matter more, but that doesn't mean that's the just way to do it. Their preference is to try to identify who the top 4 teams today are. I disagree, but that's not justice or lack of.
If you have proven over a 14-week power 5 season that no one can beat you no matter the circumstances (like still winning with your 3d string QB), you deserve a shot at the title.Personally? No. But if the committee is trying to identify the current 4 best teams, maybe they would do that. They've never promised they'd do anything different than that.
bsIt's not corruption, you all are being millennial level sensationalists.
Bama will draw more ratings, a competitive game will draw more ratings. And fsu couldn't beat anyone in the top ten right now. I disagree with the decision because I value regular season resume more than the committee obviously does, but prioritizing a competitive team over one that is a totally different team today than it was during the season due to a star qb being out isn't corruption.
They "think" Bama would be more competitive. I "think" FSU's defense and 2nd string QB would keep them in games. It shouldn't matter what we think will happen. FSU earned a playoff spot by going 13-0. If we base things off what we think will happen, why play? Playing the game is how upsets happen, legends are made, and stories are written. Teams that earn a spot based on the games they played should be given that spot. . . not the team with a worse record, but who they think might be better. . .No, they wouldn't. Bama will be much more competitive than fsu without Travis. Not even close. I bet the line is less than a td. Would be 15+ against fsu.
The ACC is trash, Louisville is garbage. They didn't prove what you're saying the proved. If you have proven over a 14-week power 5 season that no one can beat you no matter the circumstances (like still winning with your 3d string QB), you deserve a shot at the title.
I don't care how big of a cheater Harbaugh is....I don't even care if they helped SC screw us over...right now, at this point...I just want them to destroy f'n Crappabama....I want Meatchicken to absolutely annihilate them...embarrass them.Unpopular opinion: while I don't believe it was the right thing to leave FSU out, I'm glad the playoff will be more competitive. Michigan would have won by 50 against FSU without their qb, and now the cheater Harbaugh doesn't get a free warmup game on his way to the final.
If mark Martin's car got permanently damaged between qualifying and the race, that would be a better analogy. Hypothetically, Mark Martin qualifies 1st for the Daytona 500, but lets give the pole to Dale Earnhardt because we think he may be able to go faster. . .
Then I want Mighigan to be stripped of the title,I don't care how big of a cheater Harbaugh is....I don't even care if they helped SC screw us over...right now, at this point...I just want them to destroy f'n Crappabama....I want Meatchicken to absolutely annihilate them...embarrass them.
I hate the SECorrupt...this is pure unadulterated.
Bump. This is simple, follow the money.
OK, who all wants to see a riveting Michigan vs. FSU game? Anyone? What about watching Michigan vs. Alabama?
TV ratings alone will dictate FSU being left out. I don't like it, because FSU deserves a spot, but it won't happen.
Wrong again.Justice has nothing to do with this. They've always stated they want to put the 4 best teams in. I prefer the regular season to matter more, but that doesn't mean that's the just way to do it. Their preference is to try to identify who the top 4 teams today are. I disagree, but that's not justice or lack of.
Yes, they did by putting other dogsh*t teams in the playoffs the last several years. Just this year they changed their mind to make the SEC had a representative. The ACC is trash, Louisville is garbage. They didn't prove what you're saying the proved.
But I agree, they earned their spot in the playoff. That matters more to me than who is the best today.
But the committee never promised their goal was to put in the four most deserving teams.
Lol.... football fans don't give a damn about ratings.....It's not corruption, you all are being millennial level sensationalists.

No way Michigan could score like that against that defense.Unpopular opinion: while I don't believe it was the right thing to leave FSU out, I'm glad the playoff will be more competitive. Michigan would have won by 50 against FSU without their qb, and now the cheater Harbaugh doesn't get a free warmup game on his way to the final.
It wouldn’t be 50. While I agree it will be more entertaining it would be a boring 20-6 type game. UM’s offense hasn’t been that good and FSU’s front is eliteUnpopular opinion: while I don't believe it was the right thing to leave FSU out, I'm glad the playoff will be more competitive. Michigan would have won by 50 against FSU without their qb, and now the cheater Harbaugh doesn't get a free warmup game on his way to the final.
