Recruiting Football Talk VII

No way the committee leaves out a SEC but FSU sure didn't make their jobs easy with an ugly win tonight against an unimpressive Louisville team. With that said, it should be Michigan, Washington, FSU, and UGA or Bama in that order. Texas definitely have a case if they want to put Bama in.
Honestly…..the SEC was overrated this year more than any I can remember…..

Missouri and ole miss won 10 games each?
They are the 3rd and 4th best teams? That’s sad. Each would get boatraced by the #3 and #4 teams in all the other P5 conferences.

Some are brainwashed to the point that they actually believe the SEC was the dominant conference in college football this season when it was very clearly a down season.
Probably the same kids that think the SEC has always been the best conference, when that couldn't be further from the truth.

Pre mid-2000s it was nothing like that. Bama won championships, we won some, and that was IT.

It's easy to see who the posters that have been brainwashed to believe "SEC,SEC, SEC" are. Neither Bama nor Georgia deserve to be in the playoffs. Simply being in the SEC does NOT mean you deserve to be in the playoffs. Georgia lost to Bama. Bama lost to Texas. Texas should be in over both of them. The other 3 teams are undefeated conference champions.
Texas technically has the worst loss between them, Georgia, and Bama.. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The committee’s job is to put the best top 4 teams in the playoffs. Do you honestly think that’s a top 4 team currently? I’d be willing to bet that Michigan and/or Washington are begging the committee to play FSU, rather than Texas, Bama, or Georgia.
I think Oregon is better than Michigan, so let's put them in.

Does ESPN know Georgia lost today?
They are in a conundrum. Don’t see a way you can keep UGA ahead of Bama who they just lost to. And I can’t fathom any logical argument for them bumping Bama from #8 to #4 over Texas (who they lost to by 10 @ home) and even higher up, FSU (who is a P5 conf champ and 3-0 vs top 25).

It still boggles my mind the committee had us behind bama in the final rankings last year (we ****ing beat them!!!). If they keep fsu in the top 4 (I hope they do), it even more bs they had us at 6 and bama at 5 last year.

There needs to strict qualifications and guidelines on how they seed the top 25. If not, their “bs reasonings” (biases) on ranking teams changes week to week and year to year.

Honestly I dont see how UGA drops out of the top 4 after losing by 3 to a top 10 team. I feel like they will drop to 3 and the top 7 looks like:
1. michigan
2. Washington
3. UGA
4. fsu
5. Texas
6. Bama
7. OSU

The top 4 teams should probably be decided on the field. This BS about a loss not mattering because it was early in the season is crap. FSU deserves to be in and so does Texas.

The ACC commissioner and the Texas AD better be working the phones hard tonight. Sankey and his precious Crimson Tide are devilishly sneaky as they’ve proven over the years. They’ll be hard at work all night trying to steal the spots FSU and Texas earned.

Then if I was Saban I would leave the SEC because that literally mean the conference championship game meant absolutely zero if you keep UGA over Bama. They would be talking themselves in circles saying head-to-head doesn’t mean anything.

I’m putting money on Bama getting in over TX if I am honest. It’s BS but it will happen

It would be a travesty, but I agree. Bama will politic their way into the playoff over Texas. Looking forward to hearing how the committee tries to rationalize putting Bama in over the team they lost to at Bryant-Denny by double digits.

But the best win
Regardless, the committee will say that Georgia holding the #1 spot all season and only losing to a cfb caliber team this late in the season will outweigh what Bama or Texas did. Will be..

1. Washington
2. Michigan
3. FSU
4. Georgia
5. Texas
6. Bama

If TX gets left out, they will come in to the SEC next year with guns blazing...... literally.

Sarkisian was with Saban and he knows "where the bodies are buried." I'd say he knows enough to burn Kirby's playhouse down too.

It's bout to get spicy

They drop out because there are three undefeated P5 conference champs who deserve to be in. They aren’t the fourth because they didn’t win their conference, and Bama has the H2H over them AND the SEC title (with their only loss also being to a top 10 team).

Problem is Texas has the H2H over Bama (at Bama, by two scores), and Texas ran away with its conference championship today.
