He may have been on staff for only a short time, but he was on staff for this past season. I have to assume he was involved with the DB play this season.

I get it. I'm gonna get attacked for having less than a rah-rah opinion on what Heupel is doing with this hire. I just think we could do better. Maybe this guy works out. If he doesn't, it's a black eye because we're passing on the opportunity to make a more established hire. But whatever, It's just my opinion. We'll see how it works out on the field and in recruiting.
Do you have other guys you can list that are a better hire? Genuinely curious.

So our usual recliner experts trashing a guy who may or may not be the next DB coach. Typical. What is his coaching style? How does he teach various techniques? What are his work habits like? Is he knowledgeable enough to help with scheme adjustments? I don't know. You don't know either.

99% of the posters on this forum have zero clue as to who will be a good fit for DB coach. The last time I remember when we hired the "hot" name in coaching and all the know it all fans said we hit a HR and massively upgraded, we ended up with Bob Shoop and I don't think his coaching career has recovered since being the DC here. (In case anyone can't remember, our defense sucked under him, and regressed massively)

I’m not the biggest fan of it either. But to play devil’s advocate, he was a former NFL DB coach and has only been with the team since summer.
Maybe fans don’t know what the heck they are talking about.

NFL DB coach that’s been with the team since summer??
Maybe Heupel has had this planned for a while.
Almost like he knew willie was leaving

In 2022 Tennessee graded out at #102 in the country in coverage (PFF), and that went up to #35 this year with Corey Robinson on staff (with most of that damage coming from Herring in coverage). If you just look at DBs they're top 25.

Raymond's units:

2018 LSU: #10
2019 LSU: #23
2020 LSU: #51
2021 LSU: #57
2022 Florida: #87
2023 Florida: #113

Yikes, talk about trending down... 📉
Game has passed him by.

And while coaching B2B "DBUs"

Elite recruiter and I count 8 guys hes put in the NFL, and I know a couple were high draft picks.
Willie has 18. Multiple at lowly defensive-talented UCF.

Hadden bout to be 19.

Not that we have to argue over CWM anymore. Robinson is probably solid at what he does. Perspective...
