Yeah, "unacceptable" doesn't really mean anything. It's just emoting and a way to sleight people who don't turn on our team and fans in anger. Everyone wants better. And most people expect we'll get it.

Unbridled use of the word "unacceptable" is completely unacceptable. I vote for a flogging in the town square with a bouquet of cooked spaghetti noodles for any and all that use it without regard for the public good.

I think he is saying that we should view ourselves like Bama and UGA and not among the others. Which would mean we should expect more than 8 win seasons every year.

I wish that we were more like those programs. I think all of the fans want that.

We're only looking at the tip of the iceberg when we compare ourselves vs the programs at the very top of the sport today - what is happening on the field. There are so many things happening off the field and behind the scenes at those programs that make everything on the field tremendous.

There are currently like 20 programs that have all of the buy-in and want-to that Tennessee has.

There are around 10-12 programs that have all of the history that Tennessee has.

There are less than 5 programs that have everything together. We're trending towards having a lot of things together to be great again. We all hope we're lining everything up to be successful. But it takes years upon years of so much working correctly, and working in sync.

I think we all know those thing. But I feel the need to reiterate them when I read some of these posts on here.

As a program, we basically beat pneumonia yesterday, and we have fans that want us to win the New York Marathon tomorrow.

Sampson could go just about anywhere and play. Didn’t Saban try to recruit him originally? I may be mixing that up with someone else.

Sampson was pretty much an underrated outstanding 3* find in Baton Rouge, a kid who loved Kamara, which gave us an edge. I don't recall Bama being in on it, but maybe they were late. We spotted him early, or as early as staff being new could be "early," iirc.

Are you aware of any word about this by anyone close to the program? All I known is an unreliable fear- and rumor-monger started a thread in the FF yesterday with no evidence.

Pretty much been my argument from the start. We are closer as a program to the top 3 then we are to the others.
The big 3 don't give programs like UK, Vandy, SCAR the time of day, why should we?

You need a dog. Vacuum's wasn't meant for that much skeddis. Mine are all older now, but our dachshund/beagle mix had permanent dibs on all losses from the table to the floor when our girls will little. Try and pick something up off the floor once it had hit and you were likely to lose one or more fingers and blood would be drawn at the very least.

Most had us at 8 wins, or 9. We are a national brand. Heup is a great, young coach. We have all departments of UTAD etc moving in right direction. Recruiting is slightly, above average. And we are playing in a bowl.

Take all that other nonsense, and cram it.

Losing ONE game is never acceptable but with that being said I think we have only had 10 or so season's where we didn't lose one game........in 119 years !!!! Many of us have seen the good and bad of Tennessee Football. If you are a VOL fan you know it is a roller coaster ride like no other and you always want that big thrill but are smart enough to enjoy the whole ride. Another big thrill is always just ahead and I really believe that. I expect it every year, and more times than not they have delivered excitement that most fan bases wish their teams could. Think about that for a minute........
