You could be right. But if Duke was in the SEC, that dude never would have never even made a bowl game in his time there, much less even thought about 10 wins.

His team this year lost to Louisville 23-0. A team Kentucky beat just a few weeks later. Hell they lost to UVA.

First you’d have to put Duke in the SEC. Not as convinced as yourself that if you gave Duke SEC money that they couldn’t improve their resources Conversely, Kentucky in the ACC could be ugly.

The game that Riley Leonard went down with a gruesome injury. Think Kentucky pulls that upset off without Devin Leary?

If you are going to use a scholarship spot, why waste it on the 92nd ranked CB and 36th ranked instate player? Go to the portal. Now if he was a blue chip CB fine. He isn’t. I am wondering if Sensebaugh was from the state of Ohio instead of TN, would you still want him?

Here’s a few guesses, in no particular order:
1. Sensabaugh is much higher than #92 on the coaches’ recruiting board.
2. The coaches have determined how many CBs they need in this class and they aren’t confident in landing enough uncommitted CBs higher on the board than Sensabaugh.
3. The coaches do not know who will be available in the portal and they have an immediate need at CB. Offering now instead of waiting increases the odds of signing a serviceable corner.
4. Worst case scenario, you pull the offer last minute to take a portal guy instead - burning a bridge with… who exactly?

I like the Lebby hire for Miss state but the Aggie hire of Elko is really interesting. I suspect they’ll be molded like Bama and Georgia. Very physical, tough and ultra talented.

I like the Lebby hire because it give Uncle Nick another up tempo offense to give him headaches.
