If ifs and buts were candy and nuts. That simply isn't the case and I'd argue never is. Obviously the strength of schedule changes year to year, but its never that drastic. Last year some teams were better offensively (Bama) but South Carolina wasn't. They were terrible most of the season. We also had 4x more games where we held our opponent below 10pts, and 2 shutouts. More games where we allowed a ton of yards, but also more games where we completely shut them down, so it should balance out right?

This year we have been more consistent with less variation and statistically are still better.

Stats matter. Eyes deceive.
Our schedule this year was much easier than last year. No if and butts about it.

Barnes has a system and it involves too much passing..when that happens we become stagnant and shooters go cold..he doesn’t grasp the concept of just playing ball while the oven is hot. Nothing new
I think any good team utilizes passing. Ours is no difference. Def think the team continuity isnt.

watching Marquette and Purdue... they are playing with intensity and fire, motivating each other... we had zero of that today.

Another hyped Barnes team that is mentally fragile and if they go cold, they stay cold... If they get lucky and come out early with the shots landing, we can beat anyone.
We played fine last night. We gave up less than what Marquette is going to give up to Purdue, and Purdue shot 48 FT’s.

i’m more worried that we couldn’t get to 70 points against them.
Yeah im not worried about a damn thing.

We lost two close games to two of the top four teams in the entire country on a neutral floor...in NOVEMBER.

What we showed is we are one of the best teams in the country, easily. And we are not far from beating either of them.

Jacking up threes like we did at times was really dumb. Not a fan of when we do that. That's been a problem, but we will certainly be a high seed against and likely won't play any teams that good again unless we make it to the elite 8 or final 4.

Inside the TENNESSEE VOLUNTEERS' 145,000 Sq-ft FOOTBALL Facility | Royal Key

I thought it was a cool channel on YouTube that you guys can now check out on your own. They do other football programs, Basketball, how they eat, the layout of several of the football facilities is just top notch and it's neat to see what different schools emphasize or what they did with tens of millions of dollars try to compete with the other football programs.

The AD is more of a concern than Pearl… they couldn’t handle a simple secondary violation…. it was a symptom of the disease that plagued all our programs.
We suffered through ****** ADs for years. Doesn't change the fact Bruce was a moron for what he did and responsible for his actions. He has no one but himself to blame for his actions.

It's the same **** we've seen for years.
No basketball IQ, long cold stretches where nobody attacks the rim. This team is getting bounced early again.
9-3. And win absolutely nothing relevant.
Great. Why don't you take a leave and come back this time next year for basketball '24-'25 -- or football '25 a year from next September, if basketball is already in the grave by Nov 22, 24? Would save you a lot of "waisted" time.

I think they tried until he lied to them. I was pissed at the time, but try lying to your boss and see what happens.
Why would our AD give a crap if he gave a hotdog to a junior at his house…. tell him the pic…. tell him what to say to the NCAA…. tell him our course of action and then get the NCAA off our campus.

I’m not quite sure that happened, but no one will ever know. People saying either way have no clue. In my opinion, they tried to make it work, but I believe Pearl was probably not upfront at the beginning with our administration. You have to be honest to let your administration figure out how to handle it.

To be fair, that’s a reasonable prediction. Doomsaying on the basketball team for losing close games to Purdue and Kansas really isn’t.
False. We see this every year. The team shows fatal flaws early, they play well for about 2 months in Jan and Feb. Their fatal flaws come back in March. Its the same song and dance again.

If we’re in the second weekend of the tourney with a chance, I’ll take it. And I’ll enjoy December, January, and February.

There are worse places to be in this sport. I’ve lived it since the Mears years.

Interesting tidbit:
The trophy for the Maui Invitational Tournament is named after Wayne Duke.
He also was the original chairman for the Maui Tournament.

From wiki:
Wayne Duke (November 9, 1929 – March 29, 2017) was an American collegiate sports executive who served as commissioner of the Big Eight Conference from 1963 to 1971, then as commissioner of the Big Ten Conference from 1971 to 1989.

🤔

Why would Pearl give Aaron Craft a hot dog😏😏

But yet Donny was?😭😂😂😂
