The UT brand used to be very strong. The Neyland years, Dickey, Majors, Fulmer in the 90s. Our huge fan base, our stadium, our resources and revenue kept our brand strong. We used to be feared and respected. We didn’t wish we would beat Bama and Georgia, we expected to - even Florida sometimes. Well, fast forward after 15 years of dysfunction to today? Is our brand still the same or has it been tarnished for ever. Half of our fans say we should be happy winning 8-9 games a year. This is who we are. We can’t recruit with Bama and Georgia again. We are a second tier SEC team and we will be from here on out. Our brand has changed. Accept who we are. The other half of our fans insist our brand will always be strong. We just went through a few speed bumps. We really are supposed to be the team of the 90s, the Neyland, UT, etc. The brand never changed. We should expect excellence. Who says we should submit to GA and Bama. We are still respected and will be feared. What do you all say? Are we the same UT with our historical brand or has our brand dropped forever and we need to be more reasonable about our ceiling?

All-time record. At of the end of the 2022 season, Tennessee is ranked eleventh all-time won-lost records by percentage and tenth by victories. The all-time record is 867–410–53 (. 672). At Neyland Stadium, the Vols have a record of 478–141–17 (

we are a historical 8-9 and 4 program.

The sleeping giant has awakened. GBO

CJH is doing great. In fact, much better than expected.

Every UT fan I know expects the Vols to win championships. That is always the goal.

UTs brand is great. I have lived all over the place and see UT gear everywhere I go. Unless the freaking wheels come off, I expect Neyland to pretty much be sold out for most home games for the coming years.

Funny, from reading this board, I figured we were winning 10+ games per year with a natty every 4-5 years. Then again, most on this board don't go back past Manning so it's understandable.

How much has the last 15 years dropped our winning % and all time ranking?

The brand is still very strong, as last year showed. We were the sensation of CFB for a couple of months, and this a year from being in the garbage dump. The joy that our main rivals had during that decade and a half of misery shows how much we matter in the conference, and nationally a strong UT is something the networks love because we generate ratings. I live in NJ, and constantly get comments when I'm wearing UT gear, or from the Power T window sticker on my car.

I see no reason we can't be a consistent 9-10 win program by 2025 in a very tough conference with occasional 11-12 win runs when the talent mix is right, and if that isn't good enough then you just aren't being realistic.

WE ARE STRONG! You can go just about anywhere…and there is somebody flying their orange and the power T.

We are in the up…the future looks bright. Either way We Are TENNESSEE!

Need proof? Look at what we went through, it was the dark ages and we was still strong.

🍊GO BIG ORANGE🍊

We should expect 9-3 with 10-2 every four years. Of course that may change depending who we play in 2025- beyond with SEC expansion.

With that said, Volnation is strong as our we have a rabid fan base starving for a winner.

Meh.

Georgia and Bama are up right now.

The big dogs will fall off-eventually. Someone else will take the mantle.

Who's it gonna be? Might as well be us

Everything is always gonna change every few years anyway. Ups downs triumphs and heartbreaks.

Can't stop any of them.

I guess some of you guys don’t remember UT football from the end of the Battle years in 75 and 76 to about 1982 and the Bowden Wyatt years we sucked during those stretches and of course from 2008-2020, we are 25-11 since Heuoel arrived and still have a chance to win 10 games this session we are on the up and up. Relax guys

Nico and heup will take us to the next level I’ve seen all I needed to see… he has all the non coachable traits that the greats have… excellent feel for the game that joe doesn’t have with elite athleticism… I’m greatful for joe and I know most won’t believe it but he accelerated Nico development about how to be a Qb and leader at the college level… but the brand is already on the rise much more respected than at any time under the previous 4 coaches and it’s about to go to the next level… we recruiting very well at every position just gotta let them grow.

The Brand itself is still strong and very recognizable. We are a TOP 10 school historically in football and we have many accolades and "firsts" in the nation that we are proud of. We can beat anyone on any given day and we can lose to anyone on any given day. The University itself is a staple of the American education system as well as other sports competitions. We've a had a few National Championships and not every school can say that. What I don't understand is how we've been completely blanked in the Heisman voting since it began.
Things that keep us away from the elite (top 5) is media, sports politics, and hidden agendas we're not always privy to. I've watched and rooted for the Vols since Doug Dickey was coaching. There have been dry spells no doubt, but the faithful fans remain true even through these dry spells. When the world became smaller by technology and advancements in travel, as well as other modern marvels, we lost some of our passion for everything TENNESSEE. Its rare when the young boy from Strawberry Plains, Ooltewah, and Mt Juliet, as well as other small towns in Tennessee grows up dreaming of playing for the Vols one day and forsaking all other offers from colleges across the nation. Money talks. Playing college football is no longer a sport to compete in while studying for a career. College football is a stepping stone to the big money in professional sports for the fortunate few.
I bleed orange, as did my father and grandfather (who actually played for UT). I do not consider us second tier to anyone but have the means and fan support to consistently be competitive ...... with a few off years here and there.
Go Big Orange !
