I will never understand why we throw it short of the first down marker on ANY throw.

Some you use to pull the DBs in, then set up a hitch and go-type route. You don't need to throw long passes every time.

The issue is throwing a hook that leads the WR out of bounds four yards short of the line on 3rd and whatever. It's a bad route.
