Be honest, how many are not surprised at all by the outcome of the Bama game?

I didn't post it in the pick em thread but I told my son at half time, "I hope you enjoyed that because the avalanche is coming". I just had a feeling that we weren't gonna hold up. Plus, I figured the officials were gonna get involved...not that any of it matters. But no, I never let my hopes get up. Tends to be my M.O. in life.

Not really. That's Alabama and they don't quit ever. But you know what? They don't mark us down as an automatic win anymore either and it hasn't been like that in a long time.

I know we're losing a lot of seniors and it seems like everyone is already writing off next season because of that but I'm not. I'm looking forward to Alabama coming back to Knoxville. I'd love to see us put a beatdown type score on them.

Honestly, I just had a feeling Joe was gonna show out and we would explode like last years offense. The field goals in the 1st half - I felt oh no - I clearly saw holding and draping and thought it was Bama reffing and we might lose by one or two points. The second half was shocking - I was in the very hot sun roasting but was beside myself seeing the calls and more importantly lack of calls then the made up calls which I couldn’t figure out till I got home. So yes was anticipating a first half and totally shocked by second half calls. We need a neutral body to grade and can these BS refs! Independent of SEC office!

I didn't expect to win. Was surprised and quite pleased with the way the first half went but in the back of my mind I figured the second half would be different.
Was disappointed with the outcome, of course, but considering the player talent gap was proud of the guys.

The only thing I was surprised about was the second half officiating. While I did expect some calls to go like that - they tend to equal out during a game. When you have announcers on TV pointing things out - it's bad.

I was not surprised by how easy we moved the ball on their defense and by how our defense held them in the first half.

They don't quit because they know the refs will come and save the day.

It’s bama….. we lose to bama as do most other teams. It hurts so bad because we had a chance to do the unthinkable and beat them in back to back years and at home, but we blew it. Other than that, my BVS comes out and says “it’s just another year against bama”

I'm never surprised when we lose in Gainesville and i was far more shocked that we were dominating Alabama in Tuscaloosa at the half. I was not shocked that we lost the game. I figured 9-3/8-4 this season was the most likely outcome and this was one of the losses I expected.

Apparently some people really thought we could lose probably the best passing quarterback we've ever had, the most productive single season receiver we've ever had, another excellent receiver, and a top 10 NFL draft pick offensive lineman off a team still in rebuilding mode, and we'd be anything close to what we were last season and maybe better. Those people live in an alternate reality.

1st & 20 after that choke holding no-call instead of a touchdown for them makes it a different ballgame. Whatever the hell they called on the kick return was bogus too.
Don’t forget them mugging our WR in the end zone. And allowing Bama to convert a 3rd down because of a cheap defensive holding call. And the other 3rd down conversion due to defensive delay of game. We are not far behind them, if at all. Wish we could have seen a fair contest.
