Well sure it matters. If the top tier teams share more of the pie then it may offset the overall shortcomings.

I know it's extreme but I'm sick and tired of skanky's corruption. It's criminal. It could be related to gambling. It should be investigated by law enforcement.
I don't think it's related to gambling as much as it is cash cows. Bama has brought the conference a lot of money the last 20 years. UGA is the easy pick in the East because they don't play Bama in the East. Florida is too much of a dysfunctional mess to be a conference favorite. Sankey doesn't care about anything other than UGA and Bama bringing in $$$$$$

Very true. UT is a revenue producer that draws viewers with marquee matchups. Sankey values money and wants the moneymakers. But there is no internal support for UT leaving the SEC. We just need to take the SEC money and use it to get back to being a power program that won't be denied.
How do you do that though? If their intent is to keep you down, there's really not much you can do. Other schools won't join you because they're getting the cash to stay quiet. You're really on an island. You speak publicly and your fined and labeled a poor sport. Media, even though I believe many know how it works, won't say anything due to being cut off. You can't withhold money.

The only way is to start by removing corrupt leaders starting with Skanky and moving down. Don't think that's going to happen either. The SEC offices need to be moved yesterday. That's not happening either.

What in curious to see is how OU and TX are treated when they come in. They're both bringing in pretty good teams. I don't expect them to be favored over the top 2, but how are they treated against everyone else.

It's been intentionally built that way.

I've said for the last few years the best way to fix this is to leave this corrupt conference. With expansion this league isn't what it used to be. Traditions are going by the wayside. There's not a better time to do it.
Bama will tank once Saban retires. But his God complex wont allow him too. It'll be another ten years.

Can’t lose any half of football 27-0
It's hard to say what we should and shouldn't do when the two teams are playing by two different playbooks. We were playing by football rules, plus a few they made up on the spot. Bama was playing by Red Rover rules.

The corruption has never been so obvious. SEC football is pro wrestling, except pro wrestling tells you it's fixed, and both participants agree on it being fixed.

Those thinking we'll get a fair shake at KY, or Missouri are sadly mistaken. If we're not getting calls, at home against the likes of UTSA, why would one think we'll get them away against another SEC teams. Skanky saw what Tennessee could be last year. Tennessee is a risk to their manufactured hierarchy, unlike KY or MO. They don't want to see a Tennessee as a national contender. They don't want Tennessee to be a threat. They're intentionally trying to keep Tennessee down.

We've been getting lousy officiating all year. I don't think Sankey is putting the screws to us though. The SEC ref'ng corps (for want a of a better descriptor) has been trash for decades. It's years of bad hiring practices coupled with zero accountability. The mistake was allowing the SEC to muzzle coaches completely. While it makes sense that you don't want your coaches undermining officiating constantly, we instituted a policy that allows bad officiating to flourish because it's never called out by those with the experience and knowledge to do so. The SEC won't change it without pressure and real pressure will never come without authorative voices speaking on the issue. Fans will simply be written off as fans.

However, we need to do a better job at hiring, training, credentialling, and retaining officials. Too much money is on the line for Bubba who once played for X school and needs the money to get the job solely based on your cousin Jim Bob's recommendation. Further, officials should be reviewed at the end of every season - retention should not be automatic/nearly automatic but instead based on performance. The jobs need to be full time - we have the money - and there needs to be consequences if an official or crew is repeatedly lacking in performance.

There'd still be human error and plenty of it but at least it would show a good faith attempt at fixing the conference's officiating woes.

Its hard to refute this. The silence from SEC, even after weekly jobbing is deafening. It really is enough to push me away from the sport I love.

This season and last are the first couple times I can say that I’m having fun. I enjoy everything about football now, last 20 years been so miserable, and now I’m seeing people saying Heupel isn’t the one smh

Even at 9-3 we’re probably right back in the orange bowl and I’m ****ing okay with that. Heupel is doing this with two rental QBs that didn’t do much at their previous stops. He hasn’t even gotten all his guys here yet. Imagine what he can do with a full team of his own players.

I don’t know about y’all, but I’m riding with Heupel till I’m no longer have fun.

Butch brought hype, Pruitt brought hope (coaching background), Heupel has given us results

Yeah but where to? It’s pretty much going to be SEC or Big 10.
And that’s no better
Refs suck everywhere. Can't escape the fact humans stink at reacting to action at 100 mph...5-30 yards away. The very fact the ref even called Squirrel's TD catch...must've been pure luck. It's insane to believe human eyes can perceive all of that accurately...and that's if the ref is in the most optimal perception possible.

Some folks would rather there be no slow motion play reviews...because shizzy reffing adds "character" to the game 😆

UGA will lose a lot of favoritism because their favoritism will shift towards tejas

I am watching yesterday's game again and I am not certain that Squirrel was down on that 3rd down vertical screen pass. It was during our second possession of the game, we were backed up around the 15 and it was a great zone or blitz busting play call.

Squirrel was an arm tackle away from busting it long and looked like he got hit and straightened his legs out to keep them off the ground when he dove past the sticks. Should have been reviewed....maybe it was drom headquarters and they screwed us or they saw very quickly that he was down. Anyone seen definitive video of that play?

Edit: Bama's first play after we punt is a 25 yard strike that the booth highlights the great blocking against Pearce. They proceed to show their Freshman OT grab Pearce's jersey and pull him down. SMH

Texas A&M left their conference because of the Texas-centric corruption in their last conference. They know what's coming. I believe they threatened for a minute to leave the SEC when they heard Texas is coming.

I thought ATM were just being babies until last night, when the reality of conference fixing was too plain to ignore anymore.

My thoughts on leaving the SEC:

I had a job where the techs had service vans. When I was a new employee, we used to meet at lunch and shoot pool (9 ball and the winner stayed up). We were all competitive but 1 guy was over the top. If I beat him, he'd rack the balls loose or turn the rack slightly, prior to my break. I didn't catch him at 1st but I saw him do it to another guy. That's when I started paying attention. He couldn't win straight up so he'd cheat a little. It got to a point that it wasn't any fun for me and fighting with him just made everything worse.

We're there as a football team. Josh Heupel has seen enough and it's eating at him. I understand him, If you're going to get cheated, why stay? I would absolutely support a move away from the SEC. I hope the other schools' ADs/presidents will do something before it gets to that point. It's really not fair and it's ruined the conference. The spirit and sportsmanship of college football has been traded for money.

They showed a replay of it during the game with a different view. His knee 100% touched

White and Heupel should start calling other SEC schools and saying, "That was blatant. If they're blatantly doing it to us on a national stage, they're doing it to you. Let's all call up the ACC and start talking."

I don't like Heupel's explanation of the 4th down decision in the 3rd quarter. He didn't own his actions. I think his statement should be something like "My guys played their asses off. My job is to put them in a position to succeed and I failed them. I will learn from this mistake and be a better coach next week." Surely most players know it was a bad call. Owning his mistake would send two messages: 1. I'm honest and hold myself accountable AND 2. I expect honesty and accountability from all of you.

Think I posted in the game thread and it moves too fast for responses, but does anyone remember when we were near the end zone and ran OOB at the end of H1 and the clock didn't stop? I'm pretty sure it was Alabama's sideline, so that should still stop the clock, right?
