Here is a comparison of our "Points per Play" and "Plays per game" between 2022 and 2023.

-Not including end of period or end of game

From this data, it looks like we sustainably averaged 0.60 points per play in 2022, and are around 0.46 points per play this year.

Plays per game in 2022: 77.66
Plays per game in 2023: 75.25

Given that I've read each team has lost about 2 plays per game due to the new clock rules, we are on par with plays-per game from this year to last, but are falling pretty far behind on points per play.

Bonus:
Points per game in 2022: 47.33
Points per game in 2023: 35.00

Here is the 2023 chart, updated after the SC Game. I zoomed so you can see where we sit, as well as added a moving average trendline to take out some of the noise. We are trending up. Last week I said we were around 0.46 points per play. We are now in the 0.48 range.

We ran 76 plays vs SC.

Our points per game is up to 36.2

About that...we get Kensucka** at Grocery Store field this year, and they seem to be a much better team this year now that they have their good OC Coen back, and a better QB than the can'o'corn they ran out there last year.

That is going to be a tough game to win.

will levis had a better year last year than Leary so far this year…. Leary was 9-19 for 69 yds against florida.

Devin Leary has been BAD so far and they haven't played any good teams except the Gators who are just okay.

Florida was the first game he didn't throw a pick in...but Kentucky is a team that if you allow them to run the ball it's going to be tough always. Stoops wants to dominate TOP and will run it 30+ times a game if he can.

Defensive gameplan should be simple again…man press, stack the box and take away the run. Make Leary beat you with his arm, and bring the heat with the DL when he does drop back to pass.

Does anyone feel like this season is somewhat mirroring last year? Florida this year was our Pitt game last year, though that team overcame a poor performance. Maybe this South Carolina game was our LSU from last year and we’ll be really good going forward

Oh he threw them. They just dropped them. Marshall should've had a pick six with the score 23-7 right before halftime. Would've changed the entire game.
