Considering the Iranian governments past anti-US remarks have been widely publicized, I don't believe so. Besides, didn't the "Death to America" chant begin at the US embassy in Iran back '79?

There may be no known connection, though I doubt the Ayatollah or anyone within his cabinet, shed a tear for the US that day.
