The Atlanta Braves

I’m glad I don’t have to listen to chip bloviate about our big trade deadline acquisitions Max Fried and AJ Minter
I was kind of surprised that, given how long he called Braves games, I only missed him for like the first 3 innings of the season opener. And I wasn't even a missing as much as it was "this is weird to hear another voice."

Some people in prominent jobs with family connections get unfairly labeled sometimes as being in that job purely because of the family connection. Chip isn't one of those people. There is no way in hell that guy would be an PBP guy for an MLB team if it wasn't for his last name.

The Mets would have to pay a significant portion of that contract for me to have any interest in Verlander, and I don’t see them doing that for Atlanta.

I also think if you’re going to really go for it at the deadline if you’re Atlanta…this is the year. You got the best team in the NL by a decent margin. You’ve got the division locked up. Home field is almost guaranteed. Dodgers the weakest they’ve been in a few years, Reds/Brewers/Cubs are fine but have significant holes. Philly’s pitching staff is mediocre. Giants/Diamondbacks aren’t on your talent level. To me, this is the year to overpay at the deadline if you were going too.
