Listening to all the talking heads and "experts" on every single CFB broadcast last year talking about Levi's was going to be a shoe-in First Round Draft Pick over and over was the most exhausting thing in the entire history of the world. They either all got together and decided to play the most awesome prank on ole Levi's and pulled it off without a hitch, or they are collectively the second dumbest group of individual on the planet with Congress holding that distinction without any real challengers besides the Levi's first round draft pick crowd.

I am not really qualified to answer. My opinion is the"system" thing is over blown, especially by our opponents.

I love the espn posts that say Will Levis had a .1% chance of not getting drafted in the first round....according to who?? He had nearly 100% chance of not getting drafted in the first round because every team has known for at least a week that they weren't willing to take him with their pick and they weren't willing to give up much to get back in later in the round to take him.

It's a full court press on their part. 5* WRs in this offense terrify them. And their negative recruiting technique would die on draft day. WRU would be here. All this couldnt have happened in a day. But this class may be pivotal. Let's hope.

Edit: I don't think @volbeast33 disagrees with what I just said. He is just more inclined to stress and articulate the present hinderance than I. I'm more inclined to stress how we could break thru. He seems to me to attribute more substance to the negative "narrative" than I, whereas I see it more as propaganda but not without some ground to stand on. But in either case, a top in nation WR class would put all of it to the test. But I don't speak for him. @volbeast33 Is that a fair description in your view?

Ya they act like it's a statistical fact. What on earth are they basing that on?

No smart-arse, can someone legitimately argue why a team would pick Levis over Hooker (other than worried about his knee)..... Hooker blows him away in every category on the field/success and has/had a much higher QBR... I'll hang up and listen...

The main reason is what's always the reason, preference.

GMs and Coaches in the NFL often think they're smarter than everyone else. Watching the Titans draft injury prone guys who couldn't even do pro days for the Jon Robinson era has shown me that. They'll look at whatever they deem the most important trait in a player, whether that's college tape, HS ranking, combine numbers, or how they look in shorts and a shirt doing drills and put on blinders to any red flag because "they know what they want in a player"

Well, as I recall, they changed the stat to 0.1% once the 24th pick came off the board. Brady Quinn and Aaron Rodgers, both within the last 20 years, were ranked similarly high by Mel Kiper. Both of them plummeted into the 20's in the NFL draft (22 and 24, respectively) as well. So, there is absolutely no math that would ever support that BS stat.

All of those loading up on Kiper and ESPN about Lavis, you do realize our very own Peyton Manning put his stamp of approval on Levis as well, right? Was that also ESPN hype? NFL types have fallen in love with "measurables" for decades. Will Levis is far from the first turd in the punch bowl. I just hope this is the start of a trend of actually believing what the game tapes tell you.

Archie Manning has a show on ESPN where he, Peyton and Eli "analyze" the top QB's in the class. However, they hype ALL of them. They're not going to bad-mouth a kid trying to make the jump to the NFL. I watched a couple of episodes, including the one with Levis. The show is worthless because they don't say anything even remotely critical about any of the QB's.

I love Peyton Manning, my favorite QB.

But his opinion isn't exactly the be all end all, he backed Fulmer and Schiano as well when asked.

I mean geographically, Washington Commanders would be closest to Hendon's family wouldn't it? (other than the Carolina Panthers, who took a QB already). Atlanta and the Titans would be pretty close too.
