For Trump to win, he has to win back women and independents. Attacking DeSantis does not go toward that goal. It's a net negative effort because it doesn't effect the groups mention but it does lose support from other groups.

If the GOP is dumb, they'll have trump represent them. Unfortunately the GOP members are usually dumb. No offense to anyone who is Republican here.

This opinion isn't due to anything the democrats have done or what they think, it's due to Trumps focus since he left office. He's had content given to him on a player and he refuses to smartly take it. All he has to do is run again Bidens actions. That's it. But he thinks he thinks attacking DeSantis from the left or harping on the prior election is worth something. It's not.

To win the general election, you’re absolutely right.

To get there, Trump will attempt to discredit Desantis at every turn.

And as Desantis gets more exposure outside of Florida, away from his comfort zone, having to go off script, Trump will have no shortage of ammunition.

I don't want Trump anywhere near the upcoming election but I disagree with you about him having to discredit DeSantis. If he stays in the race IMO his best bet is to tone down his BS, admit the mistakes he made in his first term and explain what he would do differently and just go after Biden. Leave all R challengers alone and let them attack him.

I don't think he discrediting desantis is a good move anywhere in his campaign. He needs to show why he should be president over Biden and that's it. His antics to attack everyone isn't going to lead to a win. He will lose either the primary or general. That's the end for him under this path.

I agree especially him in the election but per usual he won't listen to common sense... he is already running attack ads in Florida on Desantis.

You’re asking Donald Trump to admit he made mistakes and explain what he would do differently, after admitting he made mistakes.

For many reasons I'm glad I don't live in FL but man I feel sorry for you guys, you're going to get a solid year and 1/2 of political ads everywhere.
