Ultimately, I like variety in all sports. I don't want every team to look the same. I don't want their roster construction goals to be the same. And the contract edge for QB's would be far too advantageous not to pursue for all teams. We have teams with modest QB's doing very well and going deep in the playoffs every year, and sometimes they get in the SB, and I love that. It gives hope to teams that don't have the QB. You can win a SB with Nick Foles, even now in this era. That's awesome. If Brady's contract doesn't count against the cap, forget about it. Add another $30m worth of players to the Patriots. Do the Eagles even get past the Falcons in the divisional round if the Falcons have another $34M worth of guys?
I'm not sure what to make of this chart. I guess worst/bad is upper left quad? Lots of passes thrown with low reward? Had to look up EPA stat.
Is that Tua at the upper right?
If I gotta pick a way to lean, it feels like an overpay.
Trading back from 13 to 15 is probably worth a 3rd.
Jets gave up a 2nd now
At least a 2nd next year
and then move up from a 6th to a 5th
So all things considered, about the equivalent of three 2nd rd picks. Considering there is little drop-off between picks 20 and 50 most years, those are pretty valuable picks. Seems like a lot for Rodgers at his age.
I was (and still am) wondering how the money would shake out. He's owed $50 mill this year. I know Aaron's not giving up a nickel of that. Which team takes what cap hitJust heard on NFL network, Part of the deal is Rodgers has to sign a new restructured contract with the Packers prior to the trade that reduces his salary cap hit to GB once he is officially traded Tuesday or Wednesday.
Another plus for GB.
“I’m definitely playing.” As opposed to him visiting a shaman to mull the decision…like this most recent session.
