The Masters
everyone

so... maybe 2 or 3 dud events if you're not a big golf fan? I've watched and thoroughly enjoyed every week. I think the elevated events have improved this year's PGA Tour. There were always guys that sat out for the "smaller" tournaments.

even this week, The RBC Heritage... it used to be a JOKE because it was the week after the Masters. This might be its best field in recent memory (or ever)
Scottie Scheffler +800

Who are Taylor Montgomery, Davis Riley, Matt Wallace, Ben Griffin, and Thomas Detry at the Valero? That's the tournament I was referring to. Granted, I think most of the top golfers skipped this event the week before the Masters. I would rather see guys like Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas than these nobodies, so I turned it off.

By the way, I never said that I wouldn't watch Harbor Town.

I disagree. It's not just about money, it's a wake-up call to the stodgy old white boys that have been controlling the PGA tour for years. Notice how quickly the PGA tour is changing their rules to try and keep the top golfers they still have?

I don't watch regular tour events anymore because half of the golfers are guys whose names I've never heard of before. Korn Ferry tour players?

Golf is golf. Koepka, Mickelson, and Reed just proved that on Sunday.
LIV is freakin garbage...it is also not a true competition between tours because the goal of the Saudis in doing all this insane 🐎💩 has absolute zero with making money off of it....it exist for no other reason than to sportswash their filthy bloody hands.

I hate it most of all for that reason. If somebody wanted to try and start a real golf tour from scratch and try to go toe to toe with the PGA what would happen?....literally nothing.

I hate this stupid 🦬 💩....all it has done is disrupt the game for no good reason.

Take the ridiculous Saudi money out of the equation and none of this garbage is happening.

There are a lot of good golfers. 4 of those 5 have played in a major, and one already has a PGA victory this season.

I enjoy your posts, but I’m not a huge LIV fan. I get that it got the PGA Tour to make some changes. But it was all about money. The guys who went were mainly on the downside of their careers or injury prone. I laughed at Freddy’s comments about Sergio. This week, Sergio got upset at the media for asking, but he was all about dumping on the PGA Tour on his own when he left. Guy can dish but can’t take it.

And yet it's forcing the PGA to make changes benefitting the players, which obviously wouldn't have otherwise happened. Sounds a bit like a monopoly beginning to crumble. Competition usually brings beneficial changes. We'll see. NCAA = bad, but PGA = good? Not so sure about that.

And Saudi money is petroleum money. Maybe EVs aren't as terrible as you think?

Yeah that was an unimpressive event. They can't all be winners.

Even still, my point was that you're picking a bad year to skip out on the PGA with all the elevated events luring the top talent and creating exciting finishes week in and week out.

The PGA tour gives tons of money in charitable donations to the communities in which the tournaments operate (more money than all other professional sports combined). The LIV fund launders money for terrorists.

The PGA Tour gives back to communities, and the numbers can be big -- and complicated.

Money Game: Here's where the PGA Tour's money goes

In Klubniks defense he was a true freshman making his first official start I believe
In defense of defense...he's a mobile QB...quick arm...but he still ended up on his arse a hundred times...their OL got straight WHIPPED...

Which I think was more of OP's point.

Or ya could just say our defense was that great and that would work too 😁

Dear Allah...I think we just agreed 😅

Though also agree with this silver lining...but wish it would have happened via a different route.

I could see a 3rd route in the next decade. Something competitive with PGA, but based on the actual market...IF the PGA doesn't wake up. LIV is just throwing money, doesn't seem to be a real business model.

Absolutely no defense for the Saudi money imo. They can **** right off, especially with 9/11 in mind. Pure blood money and corruption.

It appears to be a sad excuse for a charitable NP (which I really don't even expect it to be...so not quite a knock on them)

Direct contributions of only 6% land at their reported causes....so 94% goes to "overhead".

Total revenue-to-charity, including all of their entities, is still only 16%.

Imagine giving $100 to a charity and realizing only $16 is actually going anywhere. The standard is 65%+. The best hit 90%+.

I mean it's better than nothing, sure, but if someone is really giving money for a good cause, this ain't it. Give it to the fund of 5 Star Vols. You, too, can feed a 5 star for only a dollar a day 😁

Yup.

But hey, a few years ago they said they saw the errors of their way and thought extremism was one of the kingdom's biggest threats. So, we're all good now...

And while we're at it we'll also believe the CIA and US gov't are no longer funding their own international cloak guerrila programs.

Yup, definitely clean this time 😅

It's a total of over $3 billion in charitable contributions as of 2020, more than all other professional sports combined.
