We're a Jeckyll and Hyde team. I wouldn't pencil anything in yet. Hopefully we keep playing up to our ability, but we've seen how we can play down as well.
I disagree. We only have 6 losses. 2 are buzzer beaters. Only 3 we genuinely played poorly. Arizona just beat us playing well.
We are winning 77% of our games. That's a little more good than bad. Not good AND bad. Odds are, we win 4 of our next 5 to end the regular season. Putting us at 24-7. Entering the NCAA tournament we'd have no more than 8 losses if we don't win the SEC tournament. At 8 losses, I'd feel safe penciling us in at a 3 seed with wins over Bama, Kansas, and Texas. Even with 9 losses.
The 1-seeds had 3, 3, 6, and 6 losses last season.
The 2-seeds had 5, 6, 7 and 7 losses.
The 3-seeds had 7, 7, 7, and 9 losses.
This season is a little more open than before.
I personally think Houston, Bama, and Purdue get 1 seeds still, and each will have no more than 5 losses I think. That 4th spot is up for grabs, and if the Vols were to win out and win the SEC tournament I think they secure a 1 seed. If they go 3-3 to finish the season I don't think they're worse than a 3. But I really don't see us going .500. The remaining games are tough but so are we.
