MBA’s are the damn worst. Mostly useless yet they just know they’re top dog when they show up.
Dear Lord. We're there. "Yada, yada, yada. 500k new jobs. Whatevs. BUT HAVE YOU LOOKED AT THE PRICE OF EGGS RECENTLY"
She really said that last bolded sentence after pooh-poohing the job report.
Joe, if that's all they got, you've won, buddy.
I think you and grand just have me the answer I’ve been looking for. I have a highly motivated veteran who I trained from step down nurse to icu RN. After a year in the floor we start training them to do charge RN. He’s done it 5 or 6 times while I’m not there and the night staff has requested he not do it again. They have specifically referenced barking orders at the nurses. When they don’t immediately respond to him being barky he becomes more aggressive. Appreciate the insights. I can use this to right the situation. The military does a great job of disassembling someone and then putting them back together with a much more squared away mentality and work ethic. But the “motivational speeches” don’t cross over well to civilian life. ESPECIALLY with current generations of workers. But yes the ones that recognize that difference and adapt still have that mentality and work ethic that eventually shines thru if they are patient
Bark orders? Most of the Supply Chiefs and Supply Officers and other NCOs I worked with were not the type to "bark" orders. We did our job and worked well as a team. It's funny, one of our new recruiters is also a career military guy like me. And even he says there's a huge learning curve during the transition to the civilian work force that a lot of people don't get until they've been out a minute or two. You can't just bark orders and expect people to jump out here.
But I think you're spot on. Those that take the time to learn jump up pretty quickly.
Politicians in NYC said they were a sanctuary city. I don't see how it's a burden on them.A big Boo-Hoo goes out for Democratic sanctuary city New York taking care of Biden's crisis

One thing that I have noticed and a particular complaint that I have heard a few times is that military employees are better at following orders/instructions. Meaning, if you tell them to make 10 widgets in 8 hours, they will make 10 widgets in 8 hours. They rarely take the initiative to go above and beyond the instructions given, however. Kind of frustrating (or used to be frustrating to me when I worked side-by-side with them), but in todays labor environment, that might be just perfect.I don't disagree at all. But the military does like to give the impression military jobs are way more transferable than they are.
Mostly, former military are open to learn and 99% of the time will run circles around straight civilian employees. But just because you managed in the military does not automatically equate to management in the civilian world. There is a steep learning curve there.
And don't get me started on the military thinking they know **** all about Emergency Management... except the Coast Guard of all people.

Oh that's right, there has never been illegal entry during republican administration's. Grow up little lambA big Boo-Hoo of crocodile tears goes out for Democratic sanctuary city of New York taking care of Biden's southern border crisis. You want illegals & migrants in our country but cry when they are on your doorstep & know not how to take care of them. Joe Biden wants this.
Mayor Adams needs to go see the "Big Guy" at the WH to bitch & gripe about the Democrats domestic & foreign policies that are terrible & never seem to work in reality only to destroy & bring down the american way of life.
