I assume you mean the Chiefs challenge. I don’t see any way in the world that was a first down. Yes, the spot should’ve been closer but he still looked short from what I saw. Plus, he did extend the ball but then he also pulled it back. Is that not similar to someone running backwards? If it’s the end zone and the ball breaks the goal line then yes it’s a TD but in the field of play you lose yards if you go backwards. I thought that was a terrible call by the refs.
It is not with the way spotting the ball goes. Such (pulling the ball back) is not treated like an equivalent to voluntary running backwards in the field of play.
