The Atlanta Braves

Lol I’ve see far worse losses on teams that have won it all. Does it suck? Yes, but that’s basketball
Its not the loss, its how the team played. Very poor IQ all day today, we have nobody that can get to the rim. His teams just consistently go through runs where they play dumb.

You're right that there's not really a dynamic scorer that can bail us out of bad possessions, but honestly I didn't see a lot of dumb out there. Just didn't knock down 3's and missed a bunch of layups. UK wanted a tractor pull and we gave it to them.

The two main dumb things today, were two ill advised 3's. Aidoo's he took then got pulled, and Scovi's on the fastbreak late after we had just gotten the lead. If someone else had the ball and it was a pass and Scovi had his feet set then I get it, but as the ball handler you cannot pull up there.

As for the second point, Barnes hast to get Phillips to be the guy. Hes athletic enough, he just has to do it.

I agree about Phillips. I was hoping that Key was going to be a guy like that too, but he just hasn't quite played like that yet.

No, its funny because I just got bashed for saying Key should be one of they slashers in the B ball forum.

I think Mashak can be a wild card, but Barnes doesnt trust him ( he gets wild at times), but hes shown he can get to the rim and finish above it as well.

There’s no bad Santi 3

I didn’t see Aidoo’s 3 but the only dumb thing I saw in the time I watched was Key’s 3

The problem is that the primary ballhandlers - Key, Vescovi, ZZ, JJJ - are all pretty good but just aren't finishers and none of them really shoot the lights out of it either.

Aidoo kind of trailed the offense as it setup and took one early in the clock . . . but there was nobody within 10 feet of him, so I didn't really hate it. It wasn't like it was a key moment in the game.

Yes, you and I are on the same page at least, I just cant get that point across in the B ball forum.

I just think back to UNC's run last year with Love. With our defense we just need that one guy on offense, and im 95% sure Barnes shuts me up about his March failures.

Yeah, he needs to take that shot. So does ON

It was open at the top of the key, but it was just not the situation for it. The offense was struggling UK was going on a run, we needed a bucket and instead of working through the offense Aidoo put up a quick shot. Let me put it this way, Barnes pulled him ASAP after that and Aidoo got a loooooooonnnnnnnggggggg seat on the bench before he came back in.

Maybe the Santi 3 is a me thing, but I will never be ok with the ballhandler on a 4 on 2 fastbreak pulling up from behind the line.

I actually had more problem with the Vescovi shot, but Brown is right. As much as we struggled offensively, I'm not sure there's a bad time for Vescovi to launch a 3 if he sees daylight.

If we shoot below 33% from 3 it’s going to be really difficult to win because nobody can generate their own offense. Like KC could do last year. Defense will keep us in every game but with bad shooting nights like tonight it’s going to be difficult.

Hell that easily could have been a double digit loss is Uros doesn’t shoot a once in a lifetime 9-11 from the floor.

I just want once, when Barnes gets a 5* he comes in day 1 and is actually ready to play. It took KJ and JS awhile, it took KC half the season. JP obviously isnt ready. Hopefully Freddie doesnt let us down.

KC was good from day 1. Also there’s a difference between KJ/JS type “five” stars and guys like Jabari Smith and Paolo Banchero. There’s like 5 guys every year who are all Americans from the beginning
