In regards to tennessee being an elite level program: "I can see a recruit thinking Ohio State is - but has Tennessee ever been to a national championship game? When was the last time they won the SEC title? "

Tennessee is well known for their inability to produce NFL-caliber running backs. Aside from the half a dozen running backs that Tennessee has put in the league in the last decade and a half or so, I mean. *cough.

Give em some slack here.....this is round 2 of the thumping on Oregon for a key recruit. The Vols won the battle over Ainge a fews back too.

Those uniforms may be their doom.

How surprising is it that they know nothing about football?

I like how on the scout board they're saying they can't wait till 2010 to come get revenge. Lol - over a recruit?

And they think they'll hang 60 on us and come out with an easy win.

Their main argument is that our running game is pathetic - I guess they forgot we had a coaching change over the past year.

Basically - they believe Oregon >>> Tennessee in every aspect.

another gem

"Today (as in not over a 50-year period), Oregon is an outstanding nationally known program that regularly contends for a BCS bowl berth.
Anyway... I'm sure you're going to love Bryce Brown. Would have been great if he'd come to Oregon, I strongly feel we would have gone to a national championship with him. Now, we'll just have to win a NC with someone else. :D "

They'll realize Autzen isn't as loud as they like to pretend it is.

That has to be one of the worst forums/sites I've ever been to. There was better internet code in 1996. I become physically ill thinking about it. Is there some sort of format option I'm missing?

Not interested in rubbing it in that we got a recruit they wanted. However, it's truly sad that they can't remember 10 years of college sports. SOMEONE on the internet is wrong and we have to show them the correct answers.

i don't care about rubbing it in. I do feel the necessity to teach them some college football history.

I love the "Tennessee will be on probation" or "they cheated to get him" or "they just committed the death penalty" comments on basically every Bryce Brown thread other than a UT board.

Some people are too stupid to realize Butler was investigated before he signed so we won't be connected - not to mention - does anyone really think the people in charge are that freakin' stupid to pay off Butler or cut him a deal AFTER the NCAA announces that he is under investigation? How mentally retarded can you be?

The kid gets a bad wrap - that's for sure - he's never been in trouble. I keep reading that "he won't be there by the time we play him" due to reason like NCAA issues or that he'll get kicked off the team for drugs and alcohol.

Oh - also - "he's the next Maurice Clarett". Lol - what a criminal - shame on him for dragging out his recruiting process longer than 99% of other recruits.
