The thing about markets and economies is that they are made up of people, who have emotions and thoughts and tendencies. And when you put a literal braindead racist grandpa in the highest office in the land, who signs off on whatever horrible crap hits his desk, you end up with a shaky economy.

I took out a small loan on mine to pay some higher interest debt and try to manage through inflation. People are in both categories: losing big value in the short-term and lending from it to manage the lose of quality of living due to massive inflation.

The military is still limited to defense, but there are now some thoughts about amending the Japanese Constitution created in the aftermath of WW2. China, Russia, and N Korea are belligerent countries who never figured out that just because you can; it doesn't mean you should.

I have no clue on how to fix it, but when the basis for retirement funds is simply what investment markets have turned into, it's like banking your money with Los(t) Vegas East and hoping the industrial strength "investors"/marauders/market pumpers (and outright thieves like Bankman and Madoff) don't plunder your retirement. Not much security - and not reality based either - just perception, innuendo, and rumor.
