The Future (at QB)

Looks like Nico needs a year or two in the strength and conditioning program.
Don’t worry about what he looks like he’s got game. Hopefully he’s our starter game one next year still baffles me how people keep hoping Joe Milton’s gonna all the sudden stop overthrowing everyone when he’s been doing in his whole life.
I hope he catches lightning in a bottle at least one time in his life because it’s our turn for our back up quarterback to roast somebody, and it couldn’t be better than Clemson at this point!

No one wants Milton to fail. The guy has been as good a teammate as you can ask for. As nice as he is though, he can have off games. He can get injured. If Jackson isn’t ready to push Milton for playing time we need someone who is. I just want the best qb room possible. Really would like to see Milton play to his potential though, I think everyone would.

I 100% believe there are people here who do want him to struggle so they can post the "I told you he wasn't good" threads.

Milton knows like everyone else on the planet that if he figures out how to control the deep ball he’s a first rounder. That is one of the most impressive God given arm talents I’ve ever seen.
You left some critical information out. He needs to control short passes too and that’s also a big problem. If he can’t get his touch measured out on all passing distances, he has no future as a QB.

Nico will not be the backup for the Orange Bowl.

Milton showing Nico where he accidentally put a hole in the wall with a wayward throw.

Or Milton, once again exhibiting the quality of character his detractors lack. By embracing his competition as a fellow team member.
Some people got character, some people don't.

I mean: if you can't laugh at this, you need to put the internet away.

Classic.

Oh, and go Milton... he has the tools to have an even better season than Hooker did. I love the culture that has developed, and Nico has really landed in some prime real estate.

The best thing that can happen for TN football is that Milton figures out how to play QB well enough to keep us winning until Nico is ready to take over.
Milton hasn’t shown the ability to do that in any game he has played in so for for TN including the game against Vandy.
Overthrown deep balls are just one of many issues he needs to fix to be a decent QB.
Hopefully he can come out and play a good game against Clemson. He has had two years in this system with Heupel and others coaching him. If he still isn’t ready then he’s not going to be

The Future actually started as a QB, went to minor leagues and played baseball, and came here as a QB before being moved to WR.

Yup. He's still way to Skinny to throw a football with accuracy and on time.
Did see Peyton or Dobbs when they came in? Ray wasn’t exactly a mountain of muscle either. Seems he could throw a football.

Why? Why make comments like that? Can you do better?
It’s a simple joke. He didn’t insult the guys character or anything. Milton has a rocket arm that could do some damage and he’s overthrown some balls. This isn’t life and death. It’s a harmless joke. It’s amazing how easily hurt and offended people on here are.

I was at that game. I think every catch he had was for a first down. That was the first game after 9/11.
