Bennett being in is a joke. Supposed to be 'the best player'; not the QB on the best team. He's maybe the 4th best QB in the SEC behind Bryce Young, Hooker, and Will Rogers. Don't care if Georgia is 12-0; we all know that's because of their defense, O-line, and a giant TE that no one on Earth can defend.

Not knocking Bennett, but no one in their right mind should believe that Bennett is the best player in college football.

Participation "nomination" for Bennett. Like I said, he is not even recognized in his own conference at being the best at his position.

I agree with your conclusion of the finalists. But yeah Duggan singlehandedly delivered wins against teams Vandy or Kentucky would have beaten handily. Duggan had 2 great games this whole year. Against Oklahoma.. which looked good at the time.. and against KSU in the conference championship. if you look hard at those 2 games... his game against OU which ended up 6-6 was exceptional 5 tds no picks. Against KSU his game was an average Hooker game. He had 5 games with a QBR under 80 against texas and texas tech he was under 48. Hendon had one game with a QBR under 84....53 against Georgia. His next worst game was 84.7 vs USCjr.

Hendons second worst game 84.7 is higher than Duggans AVERAGE 80.2 Hendon. 10 of Hendons games were significantly higher QBR than Duggan's average. So yeah while Duggan was putting up numbers against such illustrious teams like 1 win CU, Tarleton, Iowa state, barely bowl eligible OU, Basic Baylor , SMU and Texas Tech. Man I just wanna puke at this point I cant take it.

Even funnier Hooker likely wins the Maxwell award and those other 2 won't even qualify. The finalists for the Best QB award are Hooker, Stroud and Willams.

I’m joking mostly, Bennett seems like a good guy but even Kirby knows he’s not an elite qb. Kirby spent half the kids college career trying to find a better option than him.

Racism is real, but it works both ways. It's racist when people are talking about black people being "articulate" and "well spoken" as if it's some sort of surprise but there's also an assumption that certain white players aren't athletic. People ITT are saying Bennett is a game manager when the dude runs a 4.5 forty. He's an athlete at QB despite being a goofy white dude with curly hair and a country club name.

The heisman lost all credibility when the winner (Charlie Ward) got drafted in the NBA draft and not the NFL draft. Further evidence of how the award missed the mark is looking at the winners of the award: Ward, Gino Torretta, Andre Ware, Danny Weurffel, Tim Tebow, Jason White and compare that to the ones that didn’t win it: Manning, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, John Elway, Dan Marino, Patrick Mahomes. As the addition of Bennett and subtraction of Hooker proves the team’s success carries too much weight. It should go to the best player period.

You literally said folks wouldn’t say bad stuff or treat him the same if he were black…….come on man that is racist. And it’s WRONG we all say stuff about white and black players every day.

He isn’t running a 4.5 and he is most certainly a game manager. Hooker had to execute for every bit of 60 minutes to get his wins. Kirby played the #1 team in the nation and barely asked Stetson to touch the damn ball.

Looks like a lot of people agree and so he is there. He played within the system and did what was asked of him. He has risen to the occasion when needed. He is the leader of that team and has overcome more adversity than anyone else on that list. He is the epitome of perseverance. He’s a winner. Haters gonna hate but he beat the ass of UT and very other Sec team for 2 straight years…as a walk on unrated recruit.

Very true!!! But the guy has confidence and a great arm. Bet Kirby is glad his parents are alum's or he would have bolted
