When they upped the age to 65 from 60 (about 10...12 years ago) they did just that. Then after collecting the data, they decided it wasn't necessary. So, to answer your question.. I'm 62, but no grandchildren required to monitor me.

My brother barely squeaked by; they raised the age just before he hit 60. That's were I learned about not letting a couple of guys over 60 in the cockpit together. He had to retire at 65 but can still pass a flight physical. At least there's a little sanity left in the system if you no longer have to have a kid monitoring you.

I think I read once that many of our refineries are built to deal with oil that we don't pump out of the ground here, and that is the reason we sell our crude and import other crude. Seems weird, but refineries built a long time ago are what they are and refine what they were built for, and we haven't built anything new in a few decades. With dems and the thoughts on oil and investment markets wanting immediate returns, good luck on another refinery ever being built in this country - just another way we are giving up self sufficiency and strategic strength. "Leadership" - governmental, corporate, and investment - in this country sucks.
