yup. the way we play football right now makes stats you "thought" mattered, not matter that much. Time of possession, all these YPG/YPA stats...this is about possessions and points per.

we put the defense on the field, a lot. and i don't know this to be true, but i'd wager our defense plays more snaps per game than most. they probably see more pass attempts than most.

add to that we've been playing very thin the past couple of weeks, it is what it is, but i just don't really care what kind of numbers we give up, so long as it's not points.

Our defense has seen WAY more pass attempts than most. Happens when you put a team down 2 TDs and they feel like they need to score to keep up (bc they do).

Yes sir I know, we gotta get playmakers in Secondary like Cam Sutton, Dale Carter, Deon Grant, Eric Berry etc. Sir, with our offense and a good defense we will kick any body ass in the Country for a long time. We had these type players in 80s, 90s and the early part of 2000s. Our offense is doing the best I ever saw in my lifetime! I was born in 65s! Go Vols! Man!

The fact that so many poster's football intellect is not collectively smart enough to disregard stats that are skewed confuses me. They have an intense interest in the sport or you would not be such a huge fan. Just something as simple as yards-per-completion when evaluating data is a good start. Our secondary is not strong. Our pass rush in good. Our run defense is strong. Teams that have even a moderate pulse at QB and WR will finish the game with a good amount of passing yards. It's a byproduct of our lack of talent in the secondary but also the dynamics of how we play the game. Better talent is going to help moving forward. But I don't see a situation where we ever have a defense that allows a very low passing yards total. We score early and put teams in a deficit. We purposely run our defense in a way that they other team is not able to control the clock with their running game. That will always equal higher passing yard totals.

Good lord...can you imagine how bad the slaughter would be if our pass defense did vastly improve by having say just 20% more PBUs, ints, QB pressures and sacks?

That would mean our offense would have several more possessions a game...which would equal even greater scoring differential...😳

I’m concerned
My mind says we win big like against LSU but my heart says it’s gonna be a tough one

It will be if we win this one, we have gotta win this one...we've come this far...way too far to fail now against this putrid usurping disrespectful Kentucky program.

I am so nervous about this game though 😖 We have got to come out and punch them right in the throat over and over and over...I want to make them quit, I want every little puke on that team, or the players that are committed to that team that scorned and mocked us to cry rivers of tears...to hurt for the rest of their pathetic Kroger lives for the horrid pathetic choice they made by going to that garbage program...😎

I’d expect we beat that azz this weekend.

I hope our offense shows up humming at the same level as the Bama game. Lights out, early. No one can stop us when we execute like that. Even the Heisman trophy QB for Bama and the best rb in the nation couldn't keep up! . . still hard to believe I'm not lying to you when I say that, 😆.
