Hubs’ birthday present to me is officially the digging of two big holes in the front yard. Beats jewelry every time. (Well, after the wedding anyway.)

They were both in 15-gal containers. The red maple is bigger and fuller; probably a year older, plus they grow faster. Note: it was mostly green Friday, bright yellow this morning, and already this afternoon is a darker gold with red flecks beginning to appear. This chit is just fascinating to me.

I'm happy that, finally, I don't have to talk about a bygone era of Vol football greatness any longer. To see the faces of the young Tennessee students that I get to interact with everyday. It's their time. It's their turn to tell the stories. I can now sit back and listen to them... and smile.

This is a worm hook, what I call it. It's for plastic fishing worms, lizards, etc. I had went to academy last week to get one, but they don't carry them anymore. When my buddy was down Saturday we were talking about them, and he's starting to fish worms more. I got home today, and there's a package with my name. My Buddy just turned about a year old. When I was tethered to oxygen tank he was right beside me most all year chewing my hand to death. The toy in picture was tough it lasted all of 30 seconds before being in pieces. I miss my ole buddy, but our new guy is growing into a n exceptional hound. Also the biggest damned dachshund to not be fat I have ever seen! Even by full size standards. 39 pounds and NOT fat. He's all muscle and hoss. Mama was champion deer tracker, and grand daddy is a champion field trials (vermin killer)....

He came home to us by way of Louisiana Last year right as I came home from hospital.

His Granddaddy on the left has a bunch of championships, as does his sons...I think my Augustus is gonna be even bigger then him.

His Momma is a no joke working dog, she's got a nose for tracking and beat out the bloodhounds. Lots of ribbons...sadly a coyote tore her up pretty bad a bit ago, but she is recovering.

MY best friend Rummy, second only to my wife passed a year ago...like I say 2020-21 was rough.

Awwh so sorry about Rummy, but the new guy sure is a Hoss....and is Granddaddy looks.....Gangsta....he's a Bad Dude.....:cool:
