I'm not a huge Rush fan . . . but does it seem stupid to anyone else for people advising the top levels of government to openly be admitting gleefully to using a talk show host as a political wedge? Nevermind the wisdom (or lack thereof) in declaring war on a guy that speaks into a microphone to millions of people 3 hours a day. Don't they elevate Limbaugh by doing all of this?

Forget what you think of Limbaugh. Why in the middle of a an economic crisis do you come out publicly telling everybody that you are trying to bury the GOP with some goofy attempt at a Jedi mind trick to deceive the public into thinking that a talk show host is anything other than a talk show host? Do they need a guy to hate this bad?

I think it's a very poor idea and driven by only one demographic.
That's exactly my thinking. It's not like minds are being changed due to this strategy. It's purely pandering to their base.

and OBTW, Limbaugh is smarter than they are and damn near as persuasive as the president.

I think Rush does what he does to make money.

What the Grand Ol Party is doing by declaring him the minority leader makes me sick. Bowing to every word he says now makes me wonder if we have any true leaders in the party. No one on Capital Hill should be paying any attention to him.

or watch out because Olberman may become the new majority leader.

Excuse me, WHO is declaring the leader of the GOP? Don't fall for the spin.

Spin or not, the party is definitley groveling to this guy.

Edit: You're right, Plouffe said that not Steele, my bad.

no problem.....the Dems are doing a masterful job of promoting him as THE leader and he is not

what evidence do we have they are pandering to rush?

Steele's apology to Rush should have never happened. Nor should the party quote or use Rush's rhetoric in their speeches or interviews.

If any reporter asks them about Rush they should say "no comment" and move on. The Dems may be masterful at playing this, but the Repubs are making it easy.

Let's see you have Rep. Gingrey say something bad about rush then the VERY next day he is on his show apologizing.I wonder if rep. Gingrey ever removed his lips from rush's anus or are they still attached like barnicles to a ship.:post-4-1090547912:

dems can't let it go because they're children. if they were adults they would not acknowledge him but they can't. it started with clinton when he was griping about Rush then.

you don't see conservatives complaining about matthews or olbertool. they may complain about bias journalism, but that's completely different than opinionated shows.

the fact is this, Rush represents how conservativism should be. he believes in lower taxes, more liberty, limited government. the problem with the republican party is that many repub politicians have strayed from that. Rush calls them on it. those politicians get upset because he calls them out for not being conservative. so when people like steele complains, they hear get an ear full from millions of rush's listeners.

You can say anything you want to about Rush - he doesn't care. He's a quitter that's wacked out on painkillers and 100% totally deaf (according to him). There's no reason a sane person would pay attention to him.
