The Atlanta Braves

Falcons trade LB Deion Jones and a 7th round pick in 2024 to the Cleveland Browns for a 6th round pick in 2024 per Aaron Freeman.

I have to admit, Boo Carter's mom screaming at posters in his recruit thread because someone compared him to an NFL player is not the drama I expected to be reading lol

I love watching teams without having the best GM

They act like it is 100% guaranteed Strider is going to continue to put up these numbers for the life of the deal. He's only thrown 134 big league innings and the Braves are guaranteeing him $75m. It isn't like the Braves are assuming no risk here.

I love these deals, but it isn't like they are guaranteed to be team-friendly forever.

Bought out two years.

Riskiest extension so far. Strider though is a workaholic. Makes sense for him considering he’s had TJS already. Little surprised this got done.

I had this thought the other day, but could we not put Ozzie on the roster as pinch runner? He's honestly the best option and it gives him a chance to keep working with the team trainers and doctors to hopefully get telhe pinky better.

I agree with it being the riskiest, so far. Part of the territory of signing young pitchers to long-term deals is there is a lot of projection and hope for their health. Frankly, if you get 3 more years of ace-level stuff for $6 million, you're probably ok with a decline and subsequent overpay on the back half of the deal. In the end, you still paid $75 million for 3 really good years. I'd rather have current-level Spencer Strider for 3 years at $75 million than current-level Max Scherzer for 3 years at $130 million.

…he can continue to work out with the team even if he’s not on the roster…
