As bad as we have played this year, this game is for the East Div. lead. Bruce has owned the reptiles since taking over at UT, but with this year's team anything can happen. The Vols have struggled on the road this year after starting 3-0. I'm taking the Vols in a high scoring affair, 92-85. Something about Florida just seems to bring the best out in the Vols!!!

Well as a transplant Vol in FL I like our chances. So off to Gainesville go I today to deal with the "Rowdy Lizards". Road win here and we may be in the dance. GO VOLS....

With all this game means, with all that's on the line... if we come out lethargic like we have in past road games this year, it is inexcusable.

Hopefully the effort will be there and I can avoid breaking something.

I'm really glad this turned out to be a meaningful game. Maybe our guys will play with some heart today.

A win today punches our ticket for NCAAs, but nothing about our recent play makes me confident of a W.

I wonder if Billy D will play that same lethargic zone they did against us in K-ville.

Fortunately, we were hitting the threes and that D was completely ineffective.

They might try it again assuming we won't hit the three (good assumption) or step up the pressure on the perimeter.

I think they still go zone but more aggressive.

Sick of being unforgiven, but there's blue skies over head. A dirty way to make a living yeah...but somebody's gotta do it. I'm a lover not a loser, I'm a lonely heart's one night-stand. Not a penny in my pocket or a dime in my hand. Don't look inside the mirror, your time is drawing nearer. How many dues do I have to pay before they...take my soul away......Nobody Said It Was Easy.

"Nobody said it was easy" The 4 Horseman 1989....good song just thought I'd share...Lets go Boys:rock:

Florida is going to have to go to a zone, it only makes sense. UT is not consistent whatsoever, so why not bait the three ball until you see if they are hitting or not. This should be a fun and interesting game as any Tennessee - Florida game is. Let's take the lead in the East and move Pearl's record to 7-1 against the Gators.

If any team plays anything other than a zone vs. us they ought to immediately be forced to stop playing basketball.

They are at +5 right now, and it is tempting me to bite on it. I like the Michigan State - Illinois game with Mich state at +1

This will be the first game I dont get to see in a while. Hopefully they pull it out and show some effort today. If UF plays that zone maybe we can pull a Pac Man and make it rain all day. Go Vols

Spoken like a true poor mouther....:)

Hey, I am a hypocrite about many things. But over the last few years I have vigorously criticized those UT fans on here who, every September, have been under the delusion that the UT football team could prevail against Florida. On the flip side, I simply think that objectively speaking the UT bball team is a lot better than Florida and on top of that matches up well versus the Gators such that any rational person looking at this game has to believe that UT is very likely to win it.

Florida has only been beaten by a wide margin once this year in SEC play and that was versus UT. Even though the game is at Florida and that provides some advantage, it is not nearly enough to overcome the fact that UT is just plain better than UF.

never mind, i see that it is 5pts, Vols

That's at least five too few.

Law - when you say UT matches up well against Fl, do you mean our front court? b/c our back court doesn't come close to yours.

I meant, in no particular order: 1) front court; 2) size underneath (see #1); 3) overall athleticism and talent; 4) tempo; 5) confidence; 6) execution; 7) composure.

I suppose one could make a case that #7 tends to wax and wane for UT, but so far this year, when things have been tight at the end, the Gators are basically 0-for-5 and I see no reason to expect that suddenly they are going to start closing out games very well.

UT needs this one, they need a first day bye in the sec tourney. I still think UT can get a 6 seed by winning out, and playing well in the tourney.
