"The shrinking of Lake Powell is due to a number of factors, including the climate change-induced drying noted above, increasing human demand for water in the Basin, and various specific water and dam operation decisions over the years. The net effect is that there's far more demand for Colorado River water than there is actual water in the Colorado River system at this point — and the gap continues to widen as supply dwindles and demand rises"

A shrinking Lake Powell could herald an even worse water crisis in the Southwest's future

I wonder what caused the droughts in the southwest prior to the Industrial Age?

Salon article........

I'll guarantee that VolMane won't and hasn't done a thing towards helping the drought, IN AN EFFING DESERT, that would help.

VolMane just post articles that fit his narrative.

Glad I got to see Mead and Powell before the leftist commies drained them. Elections have consequences. I bet if they pay more taxes and divest of all fissile fuels those lakes will magically refill immediately.

China and Indian send their condolences.

The costs are huge but desalinization needs to start happening sooner than later.
It’s time to do the difficult work and start the transition away from our over-reliance on water

Simply not sustainable at this point. We must aggressively seek out new alternatives

Imagine in 2022, people are trying to figure out why 1,000 people can't drink off my well water indefinitely. My neighbor's well went dry last year, it hasn't happen in 80 years... its due to climate change.
