Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

2:45 into the video. A guy rushes the stage and Maynard from TOOL, throws a hip-toss into a double cross-body. That's a nice takedown. Don't know why I thought of that when I saw your comment, but here we are.

That’s a decent throw but it was against a Willing victim. He did spare the kid by not landing on him though so bonus points for not hurting a moron

I know you're from the Chattanooga area. You a Soddy or a Bradley Central guy by any chance?
Edit: I should add that i ask because Maynard looks like he has a rudimentary knowledge of what he's doing.

I took my dog to the vet a couple of weeks ago and they, for some dumb reason, installed a door bell on the main entrance that ding donged every time the door opened. There were 3 or 4 dogs that woo woo'd every time that thing chimed. WTF were they thinking?

They Rocky Top wooed?

Went to Hixson and currently live on the middle valley end of the ridge. So close to a Soddy guy.

Hard to make a case that he is not. Without question the best shooter in human history...his range is jaw dropping. He is already the all time leader in 3s and will when he is done he will be a couple THOUSAND threes ahead of anyone else...but he rely has a complete game now even as a defender. He also works harder to get open than anyone has EVER had to...often having to make 2 or 3 laps around the halfcourt and have multiple picks set for him to ever even get a shot off....because teams know his daggers will bury them. I am not a huge Bball fan anymore like i was as a kid, i watch our BasketVols and then Warriors highlights and playoff games when i can. Watching Steph sleeve shots from half court or a step past with a hand or 2 directly in his face is to watch true greatness though...there has never been anyone like him, not even Dell who was a great shooter and NBA 6th man award winner in his own right.

There are a million videos of Steph in his pregame warmups shooting from 20 rows back in the stands...opposite free throw lines...full court 74 footers...not that BS where somebody shoots it 500 times with their buddies shagging balls and everybody goes crazy after an hour of trying when 1 finally goes in. He can hit those shots consistently all day long because its part of his daily warm up. Playing a game of horse etc or on the rare chance he doesnt have a hand in his face, i bet hes a 75% shooter from half court. Thats not an exaggeration. Theres never been anything like him...he has changed the game of basketball. Kids are now making it into college and the pros who have modeled their game after him...Ja Morant etc...they dont train for the highlight dunks, they spend endless hours in the gym working on their release and movement without the ball...trying to be the next Steph not the next Jordan. Watching him now in his prime is like when we watched peak Peyton being his own offensive coordinator and changing the play with audibles based on what the defense aligned to stop him. It had never been done before....the way Steph plays ball has never been done before either...and both guys changed the way their respective sport is played league wide.
Great post!

Although I do not really care much for the amount of 3 point shots that are attempted in today's game it is hard to argue how great Steph is. Plus his 4 championship rings puts him there among the best. I have to put him up there with Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson, and John Stockton. It is hard for me to put him ahead of guys like Jordan, Lebron, and Magic though. But he is not far behind.

Now that brings me to Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Obviously he could not have done it without those 2 players. Durant as well but I think he is in the same league as Steph. I would compare Klay's career to that of Scottie Pippen, James Worthy, and Joe Dumars. Not players you would normally put as the all time best but as all time greats.

Some would compare Draymond to Dennis Rodman. I disagree. I would compare him to players from the past like Bobby Jones, Bill Laimbeer, and Horace Grant. Great players as well and plus Bobby Jones is in the Hall of Fame himself. Draymond is a seven time all defensive player while Bobby Jones was an 11 time all defensive player.

He's still no Jordan...
