I know these weren't culinary greatness, but anybody remember these? Boil that little bag of gravy with the slices of turkey in it, pour over bread, and it was a special lunch as a kid. We got to talking about them at work, got me remembering good times. b02b377b90f2aafd8c32a542dbe2758c_large.png

I do. It's really good. Aunt B's on the Milligan HWY had the best cheeseburger in the Tri while I was in college. Growing up, I played baseball at Persimmon Ridge in Jonesborough. Used to be a Willy's out there that had the best burger. They changed ownership and it went a little downhill. The original owners opened a smaller place in Bowmantown. I say all that to say it's probably nostalgia, but I just haven't found a burger in the Tri that compares to either of those places these days.
When I was in college, I thought The Cottage had the best burgers in JC.
We used to go down to that Onks Greenhouse in Bowmantown before they moved everything across the road from Daniel Boone HS. I don't remember that burger place. The last time I was through there, we went to that Mennonite place, the Farmer's Daughter, and I took the back roads to get to Chuckey. That was maybe 3-4 years ago.

Edit: nuttin wrong with a little nostalgia to keep us sane
