I wish they would say why they feel better. I also wish hubbs would say why he doesn’t feel as confident. Are there actual reasons for any of it?

Someone already pointed out how AP called him a RT/G, but it’s also worth noting that 247 has his player comp as Arik Armstead, who plays DE in the NFL. He’s rated super highly because he’s a really really good football player. Whoever lands him (hopefully us) will have to decide where he projects the best.

I wasn’t saying Alabama had made a serious push or anything like that — what I’ve heard so far suggests it’s still more likely to come down to Tennessee and Miami in the end — but I was told last night by one source that Alabama was involved again, so that’s why I mentioned it.

There's that. Also, like most media outlets today, these people HAVE to report on SOMETHING. They are expected to make an update however many times during the day, every day. So they run with what they have. Sometimes it's nothing, sometimes it's a shred of info that they have to dress up or neutralize so they can actually add it as info, even if it's less than 10% true.

If we are taking them at face value....

Francis took all his visits with his family. Then they went "home" to make a decision. Since then, there haven't been any more visits, no coach contact, no fielding of pitches by the Mauigoa family. The new info can only be coming from the sides of the programs involved. The only thing that can shift the tides at this point are offers, hence the "back and forth" and "back in it" language.

That's how I've been taking it too.

The Miami mod has been reporting on this battle the whole time like it's a bidding war. I think some of this is self-fulfilling on his side just to fit his own narrative (and protect his ego).

Agreed where when/if he chooses TN, he can say “we outbid them in the 11th hour” kinda stuff whereas he likely was coming here all along.

yeah….I have read some of his stuff… He doesn’t seem like a real good source….Our guys…. Brent, AP, RC get a lot of grief but they don’t cater to their base and blow a lot of smoke up our azz…. I appreciate that approach.

I just read in RF that Miami has 4 top 200 recruits this week. That booster dude is spending a lot of money, makes me feel a little uneasy about our chances here.

If he's leaning here, you know a big offer is coming last minute. Fingers crossed!

Use your brain. He’s getting plenty of money from UT. If he would rather play at Miami for a little more then let him walk. Better situation here but if chasing only the bag, it’s getting where it’s just not what we grown accustomed to loving. I am all for them earning money for name and likeness but the bidding war has nothing to do with that.
