...Have a feeling he doesn't do too much spiritually...

Oh, and Brown is gonna need to get rid of that Alabama Helmet soon...

RBs, or at least Brown, is that the Vols offense has been pretty bad in two of the last four years--including last year when we couldn't complete a friggin' pass. Not a pretty sight--and kids see games. I got a feeling that's hurting us. Oregon will NEVER WIN ANYTHING, it's true, but they've lit up the scoreboard pretty consistently in recent years while we've struggled. One of these guys would be smart to sign with the Vols--we're comers with a fresh ,good coaching staff--but dislodging perceptions isn't easy. Thanks, Phil!

I think that Kiffin should tell all these prospects he is recruiting this year to either crap or get off the toilet in response to having them sign by signing day. Tell them either your on board or you can go flounder around and pick somewhere else. This hurts the whole recruiting process for the kids who wait and the kids in next year's class as well when making the big board for recruits.

Why? These kids are doing nothing wrong. Signing Day is not the last day one can sign but the first.

Until it changes these kids are still playing by the rules.

just watched the video...

I thought it was odd that immediately after his comments on Tennessee he said he was looking forward to the process being over.

You could take that as a positive or a negative sequence.

I'm not holding my breath on this one, but I'd be pleasantly surprised to land him.

If not, then it's Mack Brown/Marcus Lattimore/Storm Johnson in the 2010 derby for a top-notch RB.

There seemed to be some panic over this on VQ, which I found odd. It's a homer show and all anyone wanted to talk about was K-State. I don't think people should feel any more pessimistic after that interview.

I don't know what he's going to do and I guess I'll find out on March 16th, when everyone else finds out.

There's something bothering me in all of this. Why are we even still in the running if BB doesn't think we have the talent to pull off what we want? It doesn't make sense. I wouldn't waste an official on a school that I felt didn't have the talent to compete and it's not like he would visit Knoxville in the winter for the vacation.

Not knowing this kid on a personal basis is the perspective none of us have to go on with him and his decision.

Does anybody know what we did with him this weekend in the form of pitch? Knowing that Kiffin, was his primary contact (one on one time) indicates to me that promises made for his fit in the offense would be promises delivered.

I truly think he is running his options through his head and choosing his words wisely because he really does not know what he is going to do.

I think he had not yet discussed his visit with B. Bulter and the interview was to close to his return that he could not give anything out as far as a decision.

Face it. If he states he is going to anywhere but Kansas or Kansas State. That interview and the media changes it tone. The media wanted a 10 minute interview. If he does not mention Oregon, then the phone begins ringing again. He is probably concerned about his brother in Miami and USC/LSU looms in the back of his mind.

I truly believe that Oku will not commit until he knows Brown's choice of schools. This is two 17/18 year olds that have not had to make a life changing decision to date. This is a life changing decision for them and I do feel that Brian Bulter's involvement is a detriment to both.

passing along info I heard on basilio, so take it how you like...

Basilio says he has a friend that personally talk to Brown before he left campus. Says he knows for a fact that the staff pulled out all the stops for Brown. Said Brown stated that he had a great time on his visit and was very surprised at what knoxville had to offer.

Playing at UTK is a privilege. I do not think a lot of recruits know that until they get on campus. After reading Meat Market I can understand better the many reasons that the sports media and fans have not being able to accurately project the decisions of undecided athletes.

With these player Oku and Brown the one common thread is Bulter. Maybe he should be the one also in the package fan wise. In this particular case I hate to say it but this maybe the norm in years to come. More mentors and more credit to the ones that want the power and attention.

This recruitment is more of a Bulter thing than a Brown or an Oku. There is more of a possibility of this coming to the forefront.

Look at M Brown's recruitment and Grandmother's influence. Makes you wonder how many other behind the scenes influences are controlling the decisions because they have no clue.

playing college football is a privilege no matter where it is...but I do think that kids outside of the region are more often than not surprised at what they see in Knoxville once they get here. If his advisor wants to make himself so important in the process, I have to wonder why he doesn't accompany these kids on their visits. If he really had this kids best interests in mind, and if everything really is on the up and up, he should be taking visits with his potential players even if he has to do it on his own dime. How can he advise them properly if he hasn't seen what the schools have to offer himself?

...that said, I believe Brown really does think he has his best interests in mind and that his advisor really is helping. And maybe he's right...I don't like to make accusations about others without a solid foundation...

First, I do not think he (Bulter) was invited on the trip. Second, unless he (Bulter) has a power of attorney papers cannot be signed without the parent's signature.
Third, when you mentor or advise in any capacity two kids that may potentially attend the same university to play the same position does that not display a true Conflict of Interest. What's more, one player had already verbally committed to that school but backed off when Brown enter the picture.

Not making accusations but if it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and sounds like a duck, must be a duck.

Brown never stated anything about the CFL but Bulter did. What best interests are served there for Brown with the exception of money of which Bulter threw out a 5 mil figure.

I just talked to a friend who has a friend in the program. Apparently, Brown is pretty much down to Miami and Tennessee. He will make his last official visit to Miami instead of USC and LSU. I think if it's a toss-up between the two he chooses TN. From what I hear he spent alot of time with KEY people (cough cough) and was very impressed at what is available and how he will be used. I personally don't think the attitude thing is a bad one, we need a running back LIKE Brown that thinks he's the best. We're going to look better regardless now that we don't have Fosters lame tail dragging all over the field.

GO VOLS!!!

wow that's great news orangehammer but at the risk of sounding like a jerk do you have any proof that your sources are accurate

first, if he really wanted to accompany brown he could tell the university that they aint getting jack unless they allow him on the visit, too, even if he had to pay his own way. Second, he doesn't need power of attorney to make a visit. Its not like Brown was expecting to sign anyway. Third, there is nothing in the NCAA rulebook that says one person can't accompany more than 1 recruit on a visit. And last, I was not saying that Browns advisor is pure of heart. And I wasn't implying that you were making false accusations. I was just saying that for me personally, I am not going to voice my opinion about his advisor yet because I don't know the whole situation. And I for sure am not going to trash the kid because of his advisor.

I have my opinions about his advisor, but I am not willing to put them on here yet. recruits get curious about what things are said about them, and if he really believes his advisor is helping him than who am I to say otherwise. But that doesn't mean everyone else should feel the same as me, lol.

I'm not going to go out there and name any names. This is just information I've caught wind of, you can take it or leave it (also not trying to sound like a jerk). We will see how it eventually plays out, but I don't understand how anyone on here can justify how we DON'T need an impact player like Bryce Brown?! Yes, it is a privaledge to play at this great university, but this is the kind of player that smacks us back on the nat'l map BIGTIME. It shows that we can recruit the big names, and will make others take a more serious note of what were trying to do here at the University of Tennessee.

Bring them in, and our coaches will make champions of them..

not asking for names just asking if you trusted the source which you obviously do...so great news. if it's really between us and miami and oregon is out then i really like our chances.
