Apparently there was an article in the Wall Street Journal this weekend about taking a 4-day road trip from New Orleans to Chicago and back. Let's just say that it didn't go well. The driver apparently spent more time charging the vehicle than sleeping. I'd post a link, but it's behind a paywall.

Just wait for the rolling blackouts that they're predicting for this summer in the midwest. At least there won't be any more dirty coal fired power plants to kill off the polar bears.

You think anything we do with coal matters? NA has the lowest emissions in the world when burning coal, and we ship our coal to china so they can just straight stack it. We're idiots, as are the loons protesting us burning coal. If we burned more of it, the price would go up world wide and force China economically to pursue cleaner options.

I seriously did not realize that there is an expectation of avoiding political discussion in the OT thread in the Political Forum. I figured that if you're in the OT thread on the Political Forum, you didn't end up there by accident. You intentionally ventured into the Political Forum.

I'll try to be more careful about my posts in the OT thread if that is the case. I figured the OT thread was predominantly for other topics, but if political comments happened, who cares - it's in the Political Forum.

I am not sure how it works myself so when unsure, no harm in backing off. Of course I consider that electric vehicles are not any more of a political issue than whether or not to heat my house with electricity or natural gas. But unfortunately, some folks consider everything political these days.

The first rule of the OT thread is that if you mention anything political, you will have your ass darted by one of a few posters. You'll figure out which ones.
